Izuku was busy working at the coffee shop with Stacy when shinso came in. He didn't notice him, notice him, until shinso said hi.
"Oh hey shinso! Sorry, i was distracted hah!" Izuku gave a friendly smiled. Shinso nodded but clearly had something bothering him.
"Uh, a black coffee please. Strong." Shinso said quietly.
"Right away. Stacy can you take out the trash real quick?" Izuku asked as he started making the coffee. Stacy rolled her eyes and begrudgingly put her phone down and went to the back. She had been on her phone for the past hour and a half.
Silence filled the room. Izuku saw it as a comfortable one but senced a disturbance with shinso slowly creep up. He decided to break the ice when he gave shinso his coffee.
"Do you always get your coffee like that?" Izuku asked. Trying to start a conversation.
"Look, i came here to tell you that we can't be friends." Shinso stated out of the blue. Izuku chuckled a bit. "I'm serious Midoria."
"I know you are." Izuku stated. Shinso was caught off guard by that. He showed a face of confusion.
"They cornered you about me didn't they?"
Shinso tryed to shake his head now but eventually gave in and guiltily nodded.
"I'm really... really sorry... they threatened me with a knife and mentioned my mom and making things hell for you and everyone you love and.... *sigh*... it's all just a big mess...." shinso explained.
"That's completely alright shinso."
"How..!?"
"Well... for starters this is the most decent way anyone has ever told me they can't be friends for one. It makes my respect for you rise. Your parents are lucky to have you as a kid." Izuku complimented. "Plus i knew this was going to happen one way or another anyways."
"You're really not mad...? How...?" Shinso asked.
"The only anger i can muster from myself is when my dads mentioned or present. Other than that... it's pretty hard to get me mad. Irritated, yes, but not mad mad." Izuku explained.
It was true. One day he threw his moms beer off the rooftop when she wasn't looking and had a complete mental breakdown. Ever sence then it's been had for him to get angry like he was when he was a kid. It was like he threw most of his grudges and hatred with the beer.
Course he still got pissed off, with the things at home he has been feeling that childhood anger come back but he knew it probably wasn't going to stay long and if it did it would 1000% be justified. Like with mr davis and what he did to his daughter. Or officer chang and what he did with his mom. And Ofcourse his father. All justified in his eyes.
"Your unbelievable...." shinso stated. He still looked guilty.
"Hey, no matter what those jerks say, they can't stop us from talking." Izuku got an idea.
"How so?" Shinso asked suspiciously.
Izuku pulled out his phone. "We can text each other whenever and avoid each other physically. We can give each other different names on our contact list and still talk without anyone connecting us. That way, they're happy and won't hurt you or me and we can still talk. What'd ya say?"
Shinso grinned and took izukus phone. "You evil mastermind."
"Oh. You have no. Idea.." izuku chuckled. Literally. No idea.
