21. Help From A Friend

Jade POV

After leaving Roman at departures I had driven round to arrivals to pick up Damian, the timings of their flights couldn't have been better if they tried, it meant that I only had to spend a few minutes alone and it worked out perfectly for me becuase I had no intention of heading straight home and I needed Damian's help.

So I had Damian arriving with no idea that I was about to ask him for help and Roman had just left with no idea of what I had done or was about to do.
After the fiasco that was my first scan I had decided that I needed to find out the paternity of this baby, I couldn't go through that at every scan, it would drive me crazy and potentially drive Roman and I apart.

So while Roman had slept last night I had taken a cotton bud and swabbed the inside of his cheek, he has no idea I've done it becuase I knew if I told him he would want to pay for the test and to my mind this mess was all my fault and neither of them should have to pay to find out if this baby is theirs.

That's where Damian comes in, I can't afford the cost of the test so I was going to ask him to lend me the money. I was well aware of how crazy this was going to seem to him but I was desperate.

"Hey what are you doing here carino" a smiling Damian asks as he wraps me up in a hug

"I was dropping Roman off so I thought I'd pick you up plus I need to talk to you about something" I say and he smile turns into a look of concern

"What's happened are you in trouble?" He asks

"No, well yes but not in the way you're thinking" I say and he looks confused "would it be possible for me to borrow some money from you?" I ask

"You know I will always help you out, as long as it's not illegal, what's it for?" He asks

"It's to pay for a paternity test" I say and his eyes widen "it's non invasive, it's just a blood test it won't harm the baby"

"Now I'm not the sharpest tool in the box" he says as we walk "but don't you need lover boys dna for that?"

"I do and I have it, I got it last night" I say not looking at him

"Please tell me he knows you have it" he says as we reach the car and I continue to look away "Jade what the hell! You can't just steal a man's dna, for all he knows you could be planning to clone him"

"Why on earth would I clone him when I have the real thing?" I ask

"Is it illegal to do that? Becuase that would make me an accessory and this" he says waving his hands up and down himself "was not meant for prison"

"Will you calm down, your not going to prison" I sigh "please D I need to know, the scan appointment was horrendous, the two of them kept competing  with each other and it drove me crazy"

"Alright, I'll help you out" he says "but you owe me dinner every night for the next week"

"Deal thank you D" I say giving him a quick hug before getting in the car.

Moments later we are sat in the clinic waiting for the results, my blood had been taken and they had taken romans sample from me and it was a nervous waiting came, at the same time I was relived that I would finally know whose baby it was.

"What happens if it's not the result you want?" Damian asks

"Roman's said he will love the baby regardless but I'm worried he may change his mind if it turns out to be Trevor's" I sigh "Roman wants the baby to be his so much and so do I, I'm just not sure how he will take it not being his"

"Roman is a good man, if says he'll stick around he will, I trust him" he says "now Trevor on the other hand, I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him and that's not far"

"Why do you dislike him so much?" I ask "what did he do to you?"

"He did nothing to me" he says "like I said it doesn't matter, it's not important anymore"

"It matter to me D" I say "if this baby is his and I want to know it will be safe with him"

"The baby will be safe with him, he's not dangerous" he says "I tired to tell you so many times but you wouldn't listen, I told him to tell you thr truth or I would and he kept saying he would but 3 years later he hadn't despite my repeated threats and then the asshole went and proposed to you, when I called you to congratulate you I was going to tell you but then you told me about Roman and I figured I didn't need to tell you becuase you would be leaving him soon anyway"

"What did you want him to tell me?" I ask "I need to know, I've been seeing a side of him that I've never seen before and I don't like it much, so what's going on?"

"Alright, the day you met him when you came on the road with me, he and a few orher guys took bets and which one of them could get you to go on a date with them" he sighs "I told them to fuck off and leave you alone but they didn't anyway. After you agreed to a date, he bet them he could make you fall in love with him, I wanted him to leave you alone but he ignored me, I tried to warn you but you wouldn't listen. When he won that bet, it became about how long he could keep it going, again I warned him off but he told me he had genuinely fallen for you, that he really loved you, but I didn't believe him"

"I was a bet?" I gasp "I was a fucking bet, god why didn't I listen to you, I always listen to you, I should have listen to you. What am I going to do if this is his baby?"

"We'll work it out, it's......."

"Miss Tyler I have your results" the nurse says handing me an envelope.

Nervously I take it and take a deep breath before opening it, I unfold the paper and Damian and I just stare at the words in front of us.

The results of the dna test conclude with 99.9999% accuracy that Roman Reigns is the father of the unborn child.
