EPISODE TWO trick or treat, freak.
BILLY , unsurprisingly was in a bad mood when he picked Max and Nova up from school. Max skated up to Billy as Nova walked alongside her, and Billy stomped on his cigarette before opening his car door. "You're late again."
"Yeah, sorry, me and Nov had to get catch-up homework." Max answered softly, a scoff escaped Billy's lips as he turned to them.
"Jesus, I don't care. If you're late again, you can skate home with Nova walking, you hear me?"
Nova stuck her tongue out childishly at the boy who pulled a childish face back as she got into the front seat, Max in the back and Billy got in the drivers side, slamming the door as Nova couldn't help but jump slightly.
Like always, Billy was speeding. Nova was looking in her journal and Max was looking out the window. "God, this place is such a shithole." he scoffed.
"It's not so bad." Nova shrugged as Max nodded in agreement.
"No?" Billy raised a brow as he rolled down the window. "You smell that, Nova? That's actually shit! Cow shit." he exclaimed, making Nova crack an amused smile.
"I don't see any cows." Max frowned at him sarcastically and pulled up the window as Billy scoffed, "well clearly, you haven't met the high school girls."
Nova rolled her eyes. Billy, noticing this, looked at her his bright blue eyes somehow turning darker, "so what, you like it here now?"
"No..." she mumbled as he pulled a face. "Then why are you two defending it?"
"We're not.." Max spoke up exasperatedly.
"It sure sounds like it." Billy shrugged, and Nova huffed.
"Well it's cause we're stuck here, so.." she blurted, trying to get him to shut up.
He scoffed, "mhm, and whose fault is that?" he smirked, looking at Max through the window as Nova scoffed.
"Yours." she murmured to piss him off.
"What'd you say?" he snapped, his tone changing as Nova grew slightly worried.
"I...I didn't say anything." she lied.
"Did you say it's my fault when it's clearing Maxine and Susan's?" he raised a brow and she shook her head. "No."
Max, in the back watched the interaction with a small frown. "You know who's fault it is...say it." he looked at her and then at Max. "One of you say it."
He smirked when none of them answered him, "Max...Nova...say it." when Nova looked down, heart racing, Billy launched at her and screamed, "say it!"
"Hey, cut it out!" Max exclaimed, and Nova shoved her older brother away with frightened eyes.
Billy put his foot down on the accelerator and the car began to go even faster, making both of the girls hearts to race. Nova latched onto the car door handle and looked ahead of them. She sat up as she saw Lucas, Dustin, Will and Mike on their bikes not too far away.
Hey eyes widened as she shared a scared look with Max who also looked worried. "Billy, slow down." she faced him.
"Oh, are these your new friends?" he shouted over the loud music, she shook her head frantically. "No! We don't know them!"
"I guess you won't care if I hit 'em, then?" he smirked again as her eyes widened, "I get bonus points if I get 'em all in one go?" he yelled.
"Billy, stop! This isn't funny!" Max exclaimed loudly, Billy only looked at the two girls as the car got faster.
They got closer and closer to the four boys on bikes and Nova panicked even more when she saw them peddling as fast as they could away from them.
Billy's car was so close to the boys as Nova quickly launched herself at the steering wheel and turned it just in time as she yelled, "You piece of shit."
He laughed loudly at her, as the boys fell down after peddling so fast and Nova sat back in her seat, a sigh of relief escaping her lips as Max sat back.
"Yeah! That was a close one, huh?!" he yelled with a loud laugh. She didn't reply, only rest her head on the seat with a huff, squeezing her eyes shut.
