EPISODE NINE the gate.
THE long awaited Snowball was finally here. Max complained about it all week, but Nova knew she wanted to go deep down. Susan had taken both of the girls out one weekend to shop for an outfit.
The three were currently in the bathroom as Susan did the girls' hair, Max wincing slightly as Susan tugged too tight on a braid, "ow. That hurts." she complained.
"It's gonna be worth it. Promise." Susan smiled as she moved into Nova who also pulled a face but allowed Susan to do her hair. She ended up with two plaits that went into two ponytails on the top of her head, and it actually looked pretty cute.
Nova looked to the side as she saw Billy walk past the room with a small frown, not an angry frown, it was like he was sad, or guilty. She still sent him a glare as the tinest smile fell onto his lips, so small you could barely see it, but it was there, before walking away.
Nova looked at where Billy had been stood, a sad look on her face before she shook her head and looked back into the mirror.
"See, you both look pretty." Susan smiled as Max groaned whilst Nova laughed.
"Okay, now for your outfits." Susan pulled them into Max's room as she got out their outfits.
Nova's dress was a black colour, and it had a slight puff sleeve with a few ruffles, it was very sixties. Billy had been forced to drive them, as usual, and the car ride was silent the whole way, right until they arrived. Max got out immediately, and Nova hesitantly stayed back, "I'll be inside in a sec. Don't wait up, okay?"
Max looked unsure but nodded and got out, walking up to the school.
"You're annoying, you know that?" she spoke.
Billy rolled his eyes, "I didn't do anything."
"You know what I mean, Billy." she spoke, and sat back. A few moments later, she spoke up, "are you going to tell my why you hate Lucas so much?"
He turned to her, "I've told you before. You stay away from those types of people." a scoff left her lips at his words as she unbuckled her belt.
"screw you, Billy."
"Nova, ...I..." he sighed, not finishing his sentence as she frowned. She, without even thinking, she tapped the seat a few times, saying "what?" in morse code.
