NOVA frowned when Lucas grabbed onto her arm gently and pulled her and Max towards the trash cans outside their school the next morning. She rubbed her arm which still was bruised from her father, and luckily nobody noticed. Well... nobody but Lucas.
He saw the way she reacted when he held onto her arm, and then he worried about it. He hoped he hadn't hurt her. "What are you doing?" she pulled a face. She saw Mike roll his eyes.
Max had told Nova last night Mike yelled at her about not wanting them to be in their party, but she didn't really care.
"We're looking for dart!" Lucas said in stress.
Nova shrugged. "Oh. Okay. I'll watch. I don't fancy getting dirty and stinking of trash at eight o'clock in the morning." she smiled.
"...I don't wanna do it, either." Lucas then decided as Nova smirked at him.
"Stop being a baby and do it, already!" Mike complained, rolling his eyes for the tenth time that morning.
"This is so disgusting. Is this really necessary?" Max groaned as Lucas hesitantly got in the trash can. At that moment, Dustin ran over. "What the hell's going on?"
"What do you think? We're looking for dart." Mike told him and Dustin's face dropped. Lucas chucked a trash bag out, "Jesus!" Dustin shrieked.
Lucas jumped out, and crossed his arms. "Well, well, well. Look who finally decided to show up after I drew the short straw. Real convenient." he said to Dustin who scoffed.
"You stink, Lucas." Nova scoffed with a laugh as she walked over to stand by Dustin who grinned widely at her whilst Lucas frowned. "Hi, Nova."
"...hi, Dustin." she said, putting on a smile as Max walked over to them and switched places with Nova so Nova was closer to Lucas. Real sneaky, Max.
"Where's Will?" Dustin asked. Mike then answered, "he'll be here."
"Are you just gonna stand there?" Lucas held the stick out, chucking it at Dustin. "Or are you gonna help?"
They all poked around the trash , mumbling complaints as they did so and unfortunately, didn't end up finding Dart.
NOVA'S morningwent pretty slowly as usual. She, admittedly, didn't pay much attention to her classes. For some reason, the teenager found herself looking for Billy during lunch in the car park of the high school to see how many friends he had made so far, however she found Steve 'the hair' Harrington instead.
