Melanie Josephine Salvatore was the daughter of the once human Caroline Forbes and Stefan Salvatore. It was a big mystery to everyone how they managed to have a kid but it was the biggest joy Caroline ever had after the loss of her husband.

Melanie could be seen walking down the stairs of the house that her Aunt Elena and Uncle Damon had. It was a typical morning at the Salvatore family. Her Uncle was making pancakes with blueberries and whipped cream and her aunt was sipping on coffee.

"Good morning Mel" Elena greeted her niece.

"Good morning Aunt Elena. Hi Uncle Damon" Melanie greeted them back. Elena Salvatore. The town's well known doctor and kindest person alive. Almost 15 years ago she married a man by the name Damon Salvatore. It was almost 17 years that Caroline Salvatore got married and widowed on the same day. There was not a day where the Salvatore family didn't miss him.

"Ohh I forgot to tell you Mel, that Lizzie and Josie want to come over for your 17th birthday party" Elena said to Mel who nodded.

"Aunt Elena would it be bad if I stay home today I'm not feeling well"Mel said both of the Salvatores knew exactly what day today was. It was the day her father died.

"Of course Mel" Damon told her and she headed into her room. On the way up she saw the pictures that they made over the years. Due to her mom travelling to find a way to stop the Saltzamn twins from merging and to find new students to the school, there were very little pictures of Caroline and Melanie on the wall. Melanie knew that she would be back for her birthday or any other holiday but like every child they need their mother on a dayli basis and not just when some occasion happened.

In the past if Caroline was so busy she would only call when her daughter got in trouble. And she got in trouble a lot. It took 2 months for Damon to figure out she doing it on purpose tp gain her mothers attention and had a pretty serious talk with Caroline who realized she needed to spend more time with daughter.

Since then she tried to make it back as quickly as she could from her trips. Like for tomorrow when Melanie's 17th birthday party will be. Aunt Elena told her a lot of stories of how her mom threw the biggest party in the Salvatore boarding house.

For the biggest part of the day she was playing video games and eating some food she found. Later on she heard a knock on the door amd went to see that the twins were standing there.

"Mel" Lizzie said and jumped into her arms. Melanie hugged her and then went over to Josie.

"Hey I thought you weren't coming over till tomorrow, aunt Elena said you'd back for tomorrow "She said and lead them into the house. The twins had a trip across Europe with their mom. She missed her mom but she knew that they needed to spend sometime with her alone. It must have been amazing to travel through different countries and see those cities. And collect magical artifacts.

"Well we weren't going to but mom insisted that we surprise you" Josie said and Lizzie unpacked the stuff she bought for Mel while they were in Paris.

"So we stopped at this cute little boutique in Paris amd I was thinking this is so you so we got you a few clothes. Now you can have European fashion" Lizzie said and practically dragged the younger sister into her room where she tried on the first dress. A simple V neck dress in the coffee color that looked as it was made exactly for her. Lizzie then added a necklace in the shape of red rose to it and some simply dot earrings.

"What do you think Jo is out model ready?" Lizzie asked her twin and Jo nodded.

"You look fabulous and I mean red carpet fabulous" Josie complemented her you her sister.

"Okay next outfit" Lizzie said and put on Mel a white crop top that said girl power written in black and some denim shorts with jacket. Plus some earrings in the shape of notes and necklace that matched the earrings. This went on and on and on for about an hour after the fifth outfit Mel couldn't help but wonder where did she have the money for this sure her mom had money but wasn't exactly for buying multiple outfits and she doubted that her mom would compel the cashier to give it to them for free.

"Okay and last one the one that you have to wear for the party we're planning for you" Lizzie said and Mel said down on the bed.

"Lizzie wait a little my legs are getting tired from standing plus I don't think I ever tried on that many clothes in my life" Melanie said and set on her bed, feeling the cramps in her legs. The perfect birthday outfit Lizzie picked her up was, a beautiful purple dress. With some sandals, a beautiful tree necklace and some accessories that matched. After it was done sne put all the clothes the twins gave her into the closet.

"Right so see you tomorrow on your birthday right?" Josie asked and Melanie nodded.

"Yeah see you tomorrow" Melanie said as she walked the girls out. She hoped on her bed and welcomed the darkness of sleep after the long hours of trying out outfits.

I was writing this chapter like 2 weeks cause I didn't know how to finish it so it sucks a bit but I've got plenty of ideas for the upcoming ones. Stay tuned and I hope you like it. Honestly I'm proud how this turned out.
