The teacher pointed to the only empty seat beside Shriya and said "go and take your seat".

Rishi settled down beside her. The teacher was talking about algebra, just as she opened her notebook Rishi turned to her and said "Hi".

She too greeted him with a smile, after that they both engrossed themselves in the lecture.

As the bell rang the class came to an end and the teacher left the classroom after giving the students some homework.

There were two more hours to go before the noon break, there were no intervals in between. Therefore no one left their seats, everyone prepared for the next class.

The history teacher was a bit late, which made class to slowly get noisy. Rishi suddenly turned to her, "since you know my name, why don't you tell me yours" he said a bit cheerfully.

"I am Shriya" she answered.
"You're not the talkative type, are you" he asked her again. Now Shriya wondered how to answer such a question.

Having discovered that she was trying to find an answer to his friendly jibe he laughed. He found her serious bearing to be cute.

"Why are you laughing" she felt offended, the new student was laughing at her, since she considered herself to be the oldest considering her mental age.

When compared it appeared as if a child was laughing at her. "Nothing, but you don't have to answer my earlier question" he told her.

She now realised why he laughed at her. She felt embarrassed now thinking that she almost got into a fight with a child.

If Rishi were to know he was referred to as a child in her mind he would have smacked her head to bring it on the right track.

Days went on uneventful, Rishi and Shriya were not strangers now. They had become friends in class. Shriya soon found herself a good friend in Chithra.

They both hated to be in the limelight and was comfortable with each other. But Rishi was the exact opposite he soon had a dozen of friends in the school.

He was close to everyone in his class. Shriya did not think that she had any special friendship with Rishi, just like everyone she thought he was a good acquaintance.

At first he needed her help to completely settle in. But now the tables have turned. She found Rishi to be a good student and he did not shy away from helping her.

Rishi was of a cheerful disposition and quite everyone loved his character, also it didn't take long for him to become the school popular guy.

Love letters began to pour in from his little admirers. Shriya knew this because she had, the first hand experience as his seat mate.

There were times when girls confused his table for hers. She then had to dump the papers on his table later.

But what irked her more was his reply "you can keep them no need to give it to me" as if she was dying to steal his love letters.

Shriya was oblivious to the fact that she too was popular but was mostly among the boys. She was already beautiful but the new her in the original owner's body had a slightly changed disposition.

She was no longer cowardly but appeared to be unapproachable. This new change accentuated her previous beauty.
