"Helena, come eat your fruit, sweetie.", the mother called from the kitchen, putting the plate down on the table, returning her attention to the cake recipes in front of her. After a while, she looked up.
It was quiet. Too quiet.
She started heading outside where Helena was, noticing that the plate wasn't on the table anymore.
Their garden was quite big. As Helena grew up, she always wanted to play outside, so her mother started casting a safety charm around the garden to make sure it was safe. The garden was filled with different fruit trees and flowers were planted everywhere. Melissa had a special love for roses that explained the rose bushes all around, but Helena was more fond of campions. She called them "the prettiest pink flowers", so her mother planted more of them.
Melissa headed to a corner of the garden that was full of campions, there was also a big tree Helena liked to climb and the sun hit the spot perfectly. It was Helena's favorite place, she was always there.
"Honey, what are you doing?", the mother asked, looking at the girl lying on the grass with the plate of strawberries and oranges on top of her.
"Eating fruit with the butterflies. They wanted to try some.", Helena answered with excitement, putting a slice of orange in her mouth.
Only then did Melissa realize that her daughter was surrounded by butterflies. They were sitting on the flowers next to her, some were also on her hair and one was sitting on top of a slice of watermelon.
"Are you talking to the butterflies, Helena?", she asked with amusement in her eyes, smiling.
"Yeah! Don't you?"
"Oh, yes I do. All the time. Don't leave the watermelon on the ground sweetie, and don't forget to bring the plate back in.", Melissa said, returning to the kitchen, leaving Helena with the butterflies.
"Okay, mami!"
