It was a warm and sunny spring morning. Helena was staying over at a friend's house for the weekend and her parents were enjoying some alone time. As they were having breakfast, an owl landed on their window still. Carlos, Helena's father, didn't understand much about magic or owls, but Melissa had told them what to do if they ever got a letter like that.
"Melissa, honey!", he called for his wife after taking the letter and feeding the owl that was now resting in the sun.
"What?", she asks, entering the kitchen while putting her hair in a bun.
"Is this THE letter?", he asks slightly apprehensive.
"It's A letter, Carlos. Important nonetheless.", she says, smiling and opening it.
"So it's not THE letter.", he says to himself a little disappointed. He would like to see what the famous letter looks like. Maybe then, he could understand Melissa's world and Melissa herself.
Moreover, he knew that if his little girl turned to be a witch, just like her mother, he would have to try and be more understanding of the whole wizarding world, even though it was quite a complicated concept for him to grasp.
"Don't worry, love. I'm sure Helena will get her letter in no time.", he said, kissing Melissa's cheek, trying to show his support.
