Fives was in his office, looking at his helmet. Worn by the effects of war itself. Filled with smudges of dirt and scratches. Only to have his trail of thoughts interrupted by a sudden knocking sound. Fives placed the helmet in the crate and locked it. "Come in," Fives sighed. The door opened and Yang strolled in. "Oh. Hello Yang. Is there something I can do for ya?," Fives asked. "Is everything alright?," Yang asked. "Oh....yeah...," Fives nodded. "It's just that. You seem alone. Do you not have friends or family?," Yang asked. "I don't have friends or family," Fives acknowledged. "Truth is that. I've always been a loner. All my friends and family are....gone," he continued. "I know how you feel," Yang nodded in agreement. "But why don't you wanna join us? It'll make you feel less lonely?," Yang asked. "Heh. The feeling of loneliness'll come back to you," Fives chuckled, admiring Yang's urging him to join. "Yeah. Hard to deny that but still, it could maybe help?," Yang continued as she looked at the stars. "Whenever I feel lonely, I look at the stars. Mainly because seeing the stars closer together. All bundled up. Doesn't make me feel alone. Ya know since there's a lot of them, just twinkling," Yang replied. "I never thought of it that way," Fives looked at the stars too. "I had. After my biological mom left me and my adopted mom.....passed away. Every night, I'd gaze at the stars, wondering if they're looking at them," Yang continued. "Yang....," Fives began. "Yeah?," she turns to look at him. "I....I knew your mother, Raven Branwen," Fives replied.

"You....you did?," Yang looks at him. "I shouldn't be surprised since you've seem to be here longer than other professors. Like how old are you?," Yang asked. "42," Fives chuckled. "Huh. Not that old," Yang continued. "But yes. I knew your mother. I was her instructor," Fives replied. "Instructor?," Yang cocked her head to the side a bit. "She was fresh out of Beacon Academy when I first met her. All brains and no brawn. Kind of like you," Fives joked. "Hey!," Yang pouted. "It's true," Fives chuckled. Even Yang had to laugh. "Does that mean you know how to find her?," Yang asked. "No. She only arrives whenever it suits her," Fives continued. "She....comes here?," Yang asked. "Not really," Fives replied. "Sorry, I can't really help you find her much," Fives continued. "It's okay. Thanks for sharing. It's some satisfaction that I have some info from you. Better that it was about my mother," Yang nodded. "Yeah both me and a friend of mine were her instructors," Fives nodded. "Oh. So your friend?," Yang asked. "Yeah, my friend's a lot like you. Without the puns," Fives nodded. "Maybe you could hangout with her?," Yang asked. "She's uh....she's gone," Fives bowed his head. "Sorry....sorry to hear that," Yang nodded. "Thank you," Fives nodded. As Yang turned around and left, Fives looked at her. "Ya know what?," Fives began. Yang looked at him. "You're everything and nothing like your mother," Fives replied. "What do you mean?," Yang asked. "You share lots of your mother's traits. But I'm glad you don't share all of her traits," Fives nodded.

"All due respect sir, if you're trying to appeal to me to forgive my mother for abandoning, you can forget it. I will never forgive her," Yang replied, crossing her arms and turning her back to him. Fives sighed and patted her shoulder. "Well you know what you can do now?," Fives asked Yang. Yang looked at him. "You can join your team. As sure as they're just friends. You being there is enough difference between you and your mother," Fives replied. "Are you sure it is any?," Yang asked. "Yes. You're with your team. You haven't left them. In fact, you've done the opposite and sought them help. Even when they rejected you. That's something different from your mother," Fives nodded. "Thank you," Yang nodded. "Now run along. Your friends'll be waiting for you," Fives replied. Yang nodded and closed the door behind her, a small smile on her face. At leash she has some answers about her mother. The more she pondered about what Fives said, the more urge to confront her mother.
