The party had started. Yang and Nora were having an arm wrestling contest, with Nora slowly loosing. "Come on sis! You can't loose to a girl in a skirt!," Ruby yelled. Weiss looks at Ruby. "You wear a skirt, Ruby," Weiss reminded. "Weiss! Cheer louder cuz you're not cheering loud enough!," Ruby grabs her elbow and yelled into Weiss's face like a drill sergeant. Weiss rolls her eyes. "Loosing your grip there," Yang replied. "Not in the slightest," Nora smirked. After a few attempts of Nora cheating and failing, Yang pinned her arm. "Hah!," Yeah!," Yang smirked. "Heh, you got lucky," Nora rolls her eyes. "Deal with it," Yang smirked.
"Ahh youngness. A reality that feels like an eternity," Ozpin replied. "Youth is wasted on the young," Glynda rolls her eyes. "And wisdom is wasted on the old," Ironwood chuckled. Glynda rolls her eyes in annoyance. "You've got balls of steel. No joke," Fives chuckled to Ironwood. "Would you like to become one?," Glynda glares at Fives. "As if you can do anything to me, by-the-bookworm," Fives scoffed. "I am not that strict," Glynda pushes her glasses up a bit. "Yes you are," Ironwood replied. "Professor Ozpin, back me up here please," Glynda pleaded. "He's not wrong,"
Ozpin replied. Glynda sighed in annoyance and defeat. "Is this whole sass, cocky arrogance attitude part of your creation or just from you?," Glynda asked Fives again. "Just from me. I am one of a kind," Fives smirked before his grin faded slowly and he looked out into the night sky."You know, I've always wondered what the sea of stars hold for us," a voice spoke to Fives. Fives turned to see Ironwood gazing up at the sky as well. "I never pictured you for a star gazer, General," Fives chuckled. "I thought we were alone in the universe before you and Ahsoka came along," Ironwood replied. "Believe it or not, Remnant's just a tiny spec in the sea of stars," Fives sighed. "How is she? Ahsoka?," Ironwood continued. "I haven't had time to chat with her," Fives answered, a tad bit coldly. "Truth be told, if I contact her, it'll bring back horrible memories of how I came to be here," he rubbed the back of his neck. "But you care for her, don't you?," Ironwood asked. "Always. Enough to know th.at contacting her would bring back painful memories to her. I don't want that," Fives sighed. How would you know unless you don't try? Sure it might happen but at least she'll be happy to hear from you," Ironwood suggested. "I suppose you have a point," Fives continued before Ruby interrupted. "General! Fives! Please come check this out!," Ruby smiled, pulling Ironwood's arm like a daughter would. "Woah! Okay okay!," Ironwood chuckled. Fives chuckled to himself, rolling his eyes before following the two. He looked back at the window into the night sky before turning around and walking to a scene of utter suspense. There was Nora and Yang having an eggnog drinking contest. Nora was the first to finish and slammed her cup down. "Done!," Nora squealed and burped loudly. "Heh! That's called a burp?," Yang asked. "Oh yeah?! Can you do any better?!," Nora went right up to Yang's face, nose to nose, and eyes fixated. "Pfff yes I can," Yang takes her shoulders forced Nora to sit down. Yang took a deep breath and let out a loud burp while spelling the alphabet. "Cool," Coco and Blake clapped. "Eww!," Weiss held her nose. "Woah! That was awesome!," Ruby jeered. "Okay okay. Respect," Nora replied, admitting defeat. Ironwood nodded. Fives also clapped too. "Impressive," he nodded at Yang. "Manners much?," Glynda asked. "Nah!," Yang smiled.
"So young and carefree," Ozpin chuckled. "That's my style," Yang beamed. "Crazy?," Fives asked. "I call it gun-ho," Yang corrected. "Hey Yang...," Blake began. Yang turned around to face Blake. "Thank you....for telling me to take it easy," Blake nodded. "I know it wasn't easy but if I didn't, it would've killed you. At least we'll recover being well rested and ready to take anything on," Yang nodded. "Ah the enthusiasm of youths," Ozpin smiled. "More like a shadow for craving of adventure," Ironwood corrected. "I'm inclined to agree with the General. Huntsman missions are to be taken seriously," Glynda affirmed. "Oh yeah! I forgot! We'll be going on missions too!," Ruby jeered in excitement. "Yeah! We'll be able to go on missions we choose!," Yang replied. "Absolutely not. Under no circumstances should first year students go after them," Glynda replied. "As much as I hate admit it, she's right," Ironwood agreed. "Aww," Ruby whined. As the professors were talking amongst themselves, Ruby whispered to her team. "I got an idea. We'll sneak our way to a higher mission," Ruby replied. "And how does that help us?," Blake asked. "Well, perhaps we'll encounter the White Fang in one of our missions," Weiss smiled. "Imagine if we end up encountering them on our first ever mission," Ruby snickered at the silly thought.
"This will be a good exercise for all first year students," Fives replied to Glynda one morning. "A foolish one. With the recent Grimm attacks, I fear that we're endangering them," she sighed. "Well, they're attending this school for a reason," Ironwood replied. "Yes but perhaps we're rushing them to learn too much," Glynda argued. "You're never gonna learn if you never go out to experience it firsthand," Fives replied. "Oh the contrary, you can without firsthand experience," Glynda bickered back. "You're telling us that this firsthand experience is a bad idea. To stick to learning inside the school" Ironwood chuckled. "Just like the simulation. And the real thing's nothing like the simulation. That is the way these freshmen will learn," Fives replied. "Or we end up sending them to a fate worse than death. Besides, we're still here," Glynda argued as Ozpin's scroll rings. He looks at the screen. "Speaking of which...," Ozpin puts the person on speaker. "......Something to learn huh? Well.....I got some news for you," a voice replied. "It's good to hear from you, Oz," the vice continued. Ozpin recognized that voice and answered warmly. "It's good to hear from you too.....Qrow," Ozpin replied. Oz,"
That same morning, the sun shone brightly through Team RWBY's room. Ruby was snoring, clearly exhausted from the party. "Ruby," Yang poked her cheek. Ruby continued to snore. "Ruby.....," Yang poked her cheek again. Ruby winches and swipes her hand away and turned her back to her. "Let her sleep," Weiss replied. "It's not normal of her to sleep so late," Yang replied. "She's just very tired," Blake answered. "She's usually the more hyperactive one," Yang hops down. "Whelp, time for Plan B," Yang pulled a container out. "What is it?," Blake asked. "Oh! Just mail from my dad!," Yang smiled and shook it. Blake and Weiss expected the package to land with a clunk, but the package landed on 4 feet and a head emerged. The head of a Corgi. The three girls leaned down to view the dog to which the dog then barked. Barely a second later, Ruby dashed towards the dog. "ZWEI!," Ruby scooped her up and rubs the dog's back while rocking him. "Your dad sent a dog?!," Blake asked. "In the mail?!," Weiss continued. "Pff! My dad's done this stuff all the time," Yang brushed it off. She picks up a note. "Dear girls, I'm leaving Patch to take care of something so I'm leaving Zwei in your hands. As expected, foods are provided. Take care of yourselves and watch each other's backs. Your loving dad. Taiyang," Yang finished reading the note and then flips the container upside down. At least 46 dog dog food cans fell to the floor. Along with a can opener. Zwei barked at Blake who immediately jumped into Yang's arms. Yang held her in a bridal style. Just then, an announcement came on.
"There is a mandatory meeting held in the auditorium. All first year students must attend the meeting as of now," Fives's voice echoed through the speakers before hanging up. "Time to go girls!," Yang replied and began to leave with Blake in her arms. "Oh you're so cute. You're so cute! You're so cuteeee!," Weiss ruffled Zwei's belly before leaving. Ruby looked at Zwei, then at the container before an idea popped into her mind. "Wait for me!," Ruby ran out with her backpack, only to collide into a girl. "Oh sorry there!," Ruby backs up, viewing the girl. The girl had green hair. Behind her was a grayish haired boy and a woman of black hair. All three were wearing Beacon uniforms. "No worries. Where are you off to?," the green haired asked. "Oh! To the auditorium! What about you?," Ruby asked. "Oh...we..just came back from a mission," the green haired girl smiled. "Oh you're seniors! I didn't catch your name!," Ruby smiled. "Emerald. Behind me is Cinder and Mercury," Emerald nodded. "And you must be Ruby," she smiled. "How did you...," Ruby began. "It's not hard to miss a speeding red pod followed by rose petals," Emerald chuckled. "Ruby!," Yang's voice echoed. "Oh! Gotta go! And welcome back!," Ruby smiled. "It's good to be back," a voice answered. Ruby wasn't so sure but she thought the voice belonged to Cinder.
