By 1899, the age of outlaws and gunslingers was at an end. America was becoming a land of laws. Even most of the west had been tamed. A few gangs still roamed but they were being hunted and destroyed. Living free... had consequences no one was prepared for.
A few wagons drive through the snowy mountains of Ambarino. Despite the month being May, a terrible blizzard passes through. "Dutch! We need to find somewhere to settle, Davey... he's not doing so well," A man tells the black-haired man, driving the first caravan. "I sent Arthur up ahead. We'll find a place soon," Dutch tells the Reverend. A few seconds later, he sees someone up ahead. "Who's there?" After a few moments of the person getting closer, he speaks. "Arthur!" "I found a place up ahead! An abandoned mining place!"
"Bring him in here!" A group of people bring in an injured man. "He's dead," A woman says. "Listen up," The same man from before. "We've lost some people... But we must keep moving forward! If I could put myself in their shoes, I would. But I cannot. We have to keep moving, stay alive. Miss Grimshaw and Mr. Pearson, let's get this place settled. Arthur and I will head out and try to find some food and blankets. We will make it through this," Dutch turns to Arthur. "Let's go, Arthur,"
Once Dutch and Arthur are outside, Arthur stops him. "What about Elisa? We have to find her," Dutch rests his hand on Arthur's shoulder. "We will find her. I promise. But right now, we need to find Micah and John," Arthur nods. Another man walks up to them. "Do you need horses?" He brings Dutch's Arabian, The Count and his own horse, Taima for Arthur. "Thanks, Charles," "Get indoors, Mr. Smith. Rest that hand," Dutch tells him. "I'll live," "Get indoors, son!" Dutch and Arthur mount the horses and head out.
Arthur and Dutch walk through the storm on The Count and Taima. "Come on, let's go," Dutch tells Arthur. "Ain't sure what we're gunna find out here Dutch," He tells him. "We have to try. Stay close. We'll do our best to stick to the trail," "This goddamn weather," Arthur curses. "Been like this two days now. It'll blow over soon," Dutch reassures the man behind him. "And once it does, I'm going to look for my daughter," Arthur tells Dutch. A few minutes of the wind and silence. "Can't believe we lost Davey, too," Arthur says, stirring up conversation. "He's the last one, Arthur. No more. We need to get those people warm and fed," Dutch tells him. "Least we don't have to worry about Pinkertons tailing us in this," "A couple more days, we'll be on the other side. You need to help me pick the others back up. You and Little Morgan are the only ones I can rely on to stay strong right now," Dutch tells him. "We got fire and shelter. That's a start," Dutch and Arthur continue onward. "Hey, I think I see something up the path," They slow down their horses. "You up ahead! Who's there?" The person gets closer and it becomes clear who's in front of them. "Micah," Dutch says. "Gentlemen," Micah speaks. "Found anything?" Dutch questions the ratty man. "I think so. Found a little homestead down thataway," Micah states. "Okay. Anyone home?" Dutch asks. "Sure. Place is blazing with light and noise. Sounded like a party," "Let's go see," "Follow me," Micah leads the two men down the trail. "How's Davey doin'?" Micah asks. "He didn't make it," Dutch tells him. "Nor did little Jenny," "That's too bad. Davey was a real fighter. Both of them Callander boys is... or was," Micah states. "Yeah," "And Mac and Sean?" Micah inquires. "We don't know," "Quite a business," "I'm glad you're alright, Micah," Dutch tells the ratty man. "Always!" Micah calls back to Dutch. "Ask him if he's seen John. Or Sanity and Elisa," Arthur tells Dutch. "Hey, have you seen John, Sanity, or Elisa, Micah?" "Didn't see much of anything once this storm came in!" Micah calls back. "He hasn't seen them!" "John'll be fine. Things always turn out right for that boy. I'm just worried about Elisa and Sanity," Arthur tells Dutch. "I hope Mac and Sean are out there somewhere, too," The three men make it to a hill that overlooks the homestead. "Wow, you weren't kidding about the noise. Let's go down there," Dutch tells them. The three of them trot down to the homestead and hitch their horses. "You two should hide. Don't want them to be intimidated by three men as opposed to one old man. Arthur you hide in that shed. Micah, behind that wagon," Arthur and Micah go to their hiding spots as Dutch approaches the door. "Excuse me! Is anyone there?" Dutch calls. The noise and some shushing sounds behind the door are heard. The door opens as two men walk out. "What do you want?" As Dutch was trying to talk to the two men, Micah whispers to Arthur. "Arthur. Arthur. There's a dead body in the wagon. There's a corpse," Micah and Arthur get out their guns. "Shit," Arthur mumbles. "Just watch Dutch," He tells the ratty man. "Hey, it's Dutch!" More men come out and a shootout commences.
