Zack
I held Shiloh as she slept. I was so anxious and riled up that I wasn't tired. I didn't want to sleep, I wanted to kill Trevor so bad. I knew I should have gone with her on that walk. I felt like I could have done something different to help. I felt like I failed. She said I didn't but I don't believe her.
I pulled her closer to me, making her shift a little. I tried to stay as quiet as possible so she wouldn't wake up. I looked down at her, she's so beautiful. I really do like her, but I know she doesn't feel the same. She said I was like a brother to her. At least she trusts me and knows I care about her. That's all that matters.
"Zack..." she whimpered. I played with her hair and held her close.
"I'm here, Shiloh. It's ok." she gripped my shirt and whined. I kissed her head, she stayed still for a bit before opening her eyes and slowly sitting up.
"Bad dream?" she nodded.
"It's alright. He's gone now."
"No, it wasn't him... In the dream, you were gone." she wiped her eyes.
"What do you mean?" I sat up so I could look her in the eyes.
"You yelled at me and left. Like, just gone. You cussed me out because... it doesn't matter. Nevermind." she sighed and tried to lay back down, wincing in pain. I put my arms around her and moved closer to her.
"Shiloh, I would never leave you. And I would never yell at you or do any of that. Why did I cuss you out in your dream?" she shook her head and tried to push me away. I moved so I wasn't as close.
"I said it didn't matter."
"But it obviously does."
"Zack. Drop it. You'll never like me anyways." as soon as she said it, her hand went over her mouth.
"Like you?" I raised an eyebrow.
"I- I meant... Fuck. Just... Just forget I said anything." she tried to stand up, falling. I jumped up and ran over to her, picking her up. She just cried in my chest.
"Shiloh, look at me please." I said as I sat on the couch.
"N-no. You probably hate me now."
"Why would I hate you, love?"
"Because. I expressed my feelings and you don't like me back." I shook my head at her and ran my hand through her hair.
"Are you sure about that? What makes you think I don't?"
"I- I don't know. I'm sure you don't like me though. I'm just a fan of yours."
I sighed and put my hand on her chin, raising her head to look at me.
"You are not just a fan. You are my friend. I love you, Shiloh." the words came out before I could stop them. Her eyes widened and she just stared at me.
"Do-.. Do you mean that?"
"Absolutely." She sat up, putting her arms around my neck.
"Zack..." Shiloh bit her lip and looked down.
"Yes, Shiloh?" I put my arms around her wait.
"I-.." I heard her sigh. "Forgive me."
"For wha-?" I was cut off by her lips on mine. I pulled her closer and kissed her back. The way her lips felt on mine, the way she tasted. I loved it and I crave it now. She kissed my cheek earlier, making me go crazy. But this... this is what I dreamed of doing. We pulled away, both of our faces tomato red.
"You're forgiven." I smiled at her. She hid her face in my neck.
"Aww. Getting all shy now?" I teased her.
"Shut up." she mumbled and kept her face hidden. I played with her hair, keeping her in my lap.
"I think you should go back to bed." I told her.
"But whyyyy?"
"You have all day to hang out with me. You need sleep." Shiloh looked at me, pouting.
"Shiloh, I mean it." she sighed and got off her lap, carefully moving to the bed. I laid down next to her and cuddled her. She soon tell asleep and I fell asleep beside her. I'm happy that I was able to tell her my feelings.
