the party

Katie's pov

After Cedric left I sat down against the tree and just sat there. I was often bored, all I did was going to my classes and then to the library and then slept.

I shared my dorm with a girl called Ava, but mostly she stayed at her boyfriends dorm for the night so I got the dorm to my self.

Damn, I really am lonely.

I lifted myself of the ground and went back to my dorm.

If I'm going to this party I wanna change clothes. If.

I was lucky to find the dorm empty as I walked in so I took that as my chance to have a shower. After the shower I put on a black skirt and a white T-shirt that I found. Basic but I was never really the one to buy cool clothes so I mostly wore simple things.

I have put on some makeup and I've been hearing the sound of music and cheers, the party has begun. I took a deep breath and just waited a few minutes before walking down the stairs.

'Swimming pools' was playing and the room was blue from the lights and the room was crowded. People danced, talked, drank or made out.

When I reached the bottom of the stairs I looked around, trying to find Cedric. He was the one who asked me here and wanting to get to know me so I would assume he was the one I would be spending my time with here. I walked and didn't look as I bumped into a girl, feeling her drink spill on my shirt.

"Oh my god I'm so so sorry, here let me help you." The girl said.

"It's fine really, I should watch where I'm going." I said as I tried walking away.

"No let me help you. I don't really know anyone, I started here at the beginning of the year. Do you have anyone to be with now?"

I looked around and saw Cedric, he had a girl on his lap, as she lied kisses on his neck he talks to his friends. Seems like he's busy.

"Actually I don't really have any friends either so I would love if we spent time together."

"Awesome, I'm just gonna get a new drink, you want one?"

"Why not, thank you." I said and the girl I still don't know the name of smiled.

She came back with two drinks and I tried it, to be honest it wasn't that bad.

"Hey it might be good knowing your name." The girl laughed.

"I'm Katie and I'm in Hufflepuff, you?"

"Mia. Also in Hufflepuff."

"What a coincidence."

"Indeed, I could use some friend, if you don't mind, maybe we can hang out tomorrow or so?"

"I would love to, going to the library everyday is getting boring." I chuckled.

"What? I love reading."

"You're sick." I laughed and she joined.

We had some small talk and I really liked her. She was nice, different from the rest of the girls here. We danced a little and after a few hours I felt tired, Mia too.

As we walked up stairs I heard someone yell 'wait up' I turned around and saw Cedric trying to move through the people .

"I'm going to my dorm, have fun." Mia winked.

I just laughed and turned around and was met with Cedric. He had black jeans and a white T-shirt.

"Hey I didn't see you." He smiled.

"Yeah I saw you kind off busy with that girl so I didn't want to interrupt."

"Oh no, she was annoying as fuck, never letting go. I'm sorry you had to see that, I really wanted to talk to you."

"Katie." I blurted out.

"What?"

"That's my name, you said that was a part of the getting to know each other." I said as he chuckled.

"Well Katie, I would still like to get to know you more. How about we go for a buttebeer tomorrow, it's Saturday so we can go after lunch?"

Honestly I could use a friend and some company. I'm keeping this under control this time, I will not mess up.

"Sure."
