Here I am again, trying to pass the time between sessions

I was being moved
That's the only reason I woke up, someone was moving me
My head was still throbbing from being hit by a flying piece of stone. No doubt from a smashed grave

I got tossed down onto the stone floor, nearly sliding into a pool of water. Yep, you guessed it. Zack was carrying me.
"God damn you couldn't have been more gentle-"

"Not my fault you got knocked out."

Rachel peeked out from behind him "Yes it was. You were the one who smashed my grave, that's what hit her."

"Oh would you shut up for two seconds?!-"

I slowly stood, looking around. We were back in the corridor from the elevator, something bubbling a ways into the water. After a little while of them bickering, Zack waded into the water. There was a small click when he stood where the bubbles were, and Ray disappeared back into the other room.

I sat there with him until the cold got too much for him to bear, and he got out, completely soaked.
"What'd you do, piss your pants in there?"

"Oh shut the fuck up."

I laughed, standing. We made our way back to the main room, pacing for a while before the lights shut off, with a small giggle that seemed to come from all around us.

"Alright Eddie. I know you've been stalking us, come on out"
With another flicker of the lights he appeared, wearing that stupid mask.
"You do realize we both know what you look like, right? You don't need to wear that"

"I'm not here for you. I'm here for him." He slowly pointed his shovel towards Zack, who scowled "Grave ruiner."

"You didn't have anything better than that, huh? Its not that hard to come up with an insult, little shit." Zack remarked

"I spent all that time working on her grave. Why would you go and wreck it like that?!-"

I couldn't help but agree with him. I mean, the kid spent a lot of time on it, and it was really well made too! Not to mention Ray asked zack specifically not to destroy it. Real dick move overall.
I couldn't say that out loud, though. In fact I had nothing to say to either of them. Eddie had a right to be upset, and if he was gonna take it out on zack so be it. Not my place to interfere.

After a while, the lights shut off again, and he left.

"COME OUT AND FIGHT YOU LITTLE NECROPHILIAC!!-"

"Give it a goddamn rest for once in your life, jesus Christ. He didn't do shit to you."

"Oh you're one to talk. Standing there saying fucking nothing. I thought you were with me on this, don't you want to keep her alive?!"

"Oh please, like the kid's gonna do anything to her. He loves her to death, literally. If she doesn't wanna die by his hand he won't do anything."

"We both know very well that's not how this works."

"Alright, alright ya big baby. Come on then."
I walked off, expecting him to follow, and he did. What else was he gonna do?
We headed to the crack next to the waterfall in the morgue, and could hear a faint conversation between ray and Eddie.

"Alright little miss horror show, ya in there somewhere??!-"

"..me?"

"Who else??"

...God, I wished he would shut up for once. I loved the bastard but damn, he was loud. I miss him..

Either way, the two went back and forth for a while, ending up on "I swear to god I'll kill you."

That sure got her attention, and by the time we'd gotten through the wall eddie was already gone, crying softly in the darkness.
I wanted to console him. I may not have understood it but he was still a kid dammit..

We moved on, walking the corridors until we came to a wider, more elaborate room, with a garden, and stairs. It was..pretty
Eddie was standing on the stairs, staring down at us.

"Kid-"

"Shut up! You've done enough."
He didn't let me get a word in before lunging at Zack.
Ray had chosen him. And unfortunately, to Eddie, that meant he was in the way.
One of them was gonna die. The lights flickered and went out.
Ray ran off with the flashlight, ordered by zack to go find a light switch.
The boys seemed pretty evenly matched, so I went after her.

The next few minutes were a blur.
Someone got slammed into a gravestone.
I shot blindly into the dark, the bullet ricocheting off a few things before stopping.
The lights flicked on
Eddie sat up
He was crying,
"Why?..why him?.."
Zack was creeping up behind him
I tried to stop him

..but I wasn't fast enough
I couldn't save him
I couldn't save Eddie.

I took his mask, folding it up and placing it in my pocket. And I held his hand for as long as I could, brushing a bit of hair out of his face, and pulling my hand away when the gravestone fell.

I didn't say a word to Zack. Not until we reached the next floor.

Not after what he'd done.
