- chapter II -

                                                                           night lights twinkle

The air was warm that night . Kane and Reggie were dressed in their best clubbing clothes. Reggie was dressed in white button up shirt, tight on his frame a couple of buttons undone teasing a little bit of his muscular body beneath and a pair of black slacks a little tight but not too much. Kane was sporting similar but with a blue shirt and a black blazer. Lux was a high class club and they were not going to be anything less.

Kane had a car but it wasn't the best he was planning to get a new one soon but it got him from a to be so he couldn't complain. They weren't going to take it to Lux. Kane explained that his friend would come pick them up and they would go. Reggie didn't have any complaints on that, they sat on the counter getting in a few shots of vodka and gin before the friend came.

Soon enough a ring on resounded over the low playing music "Should be him " Kane says straitening his shirt and walking over to the door, Reggie nodded also dusting of his slacks and and checking his phone. The man was tall, well taller than Kane but shorter than Reggie he was dressed in a full black suit and waistcoat with dark blue inner. He looked expensive, Reggie briefly wondered how Kane knew him. He was broken out of his thoughts by the call of his name " This is Reggie best friend and roommate " Kane gestured towards Reggie with a soft smile the other man smiled back at him eyes forming crescents " this here is Darren and also my boss" this made the other whip his head round, questioning what he said Boss the owner of faim" don't worry we are friends hope you can be relaxed and enjoy " Darren said reassuring Reggie there was nothing wrong " Reggie chuckled a bit but still sent death glares at his friend. He could have been warned that it was his fucking boss. " Shall we go then " Kane said with excitement visible on his face, the two men nodded and they went to Darren's car. Reggie let out a low whistle " nice ride you got here " he said admiring the Porsche in front, Darren laughed and they went in.

The drive there was pretty long and it wasn't as awkward as Reggie envisioned. Darren was cool and pretty outgoing, telling them about some adventures he had when he was in high school and was a pretty funny guy not stuck up at all. It made sense he befriended Kane and he knew Kane hated such so it was fit.

Lux was situated at the heart of the city but away from the bustle of the main side it was a 3 story building, it was a private members only club but since it was newly opening only a fee needed to be prepaid before you could be allowed in. The three men got out of the car and a man in a suit came to them " Mr liang glad you are able to make it safely he shall park your car" the man said pointing to another dressed similarly holding a small dish, Darren nodded his head and put his keys in the dish. They were escorted to their table, and served with a few drinks.

"It looks amazing in here" whispered to Reggie glancing around a bit as Daren was busy with the waiter, " yeah it looks great but the drinks look so expensive" he says looking at the blue concoction in front of him it tasted good ,bubble gum with a kick of alcohol. " Don't worry about it Darren said it's on his tab" Kane laughed a bit while drinking more of his cocktail. Reggie was uncomfortable with this fact, but he wasn't going to say anything not to cause a scene. " How are you so close to your fucking boss though, I thought it was a friend " Reggie looked at the other questioningly, "he is, he's been really nice and we became friends to be honest I can't explain it we clicked and here we are" he shrugged his shoulders. The other stared for a bit then it clicked, but he stayed silent.

" The waiter was telling me some high profile people are here tonight " Darren says swirling a bit of wine in his glass, Kane and Reggie nod their heads observing the club everyone seemed high class so they couldn't tell," should we go down" Kane spoke looking at the other two, the ground floor was where the music was rather than the more calm ambiance they were in. The 3 men stood up and walked down to the ground floor. They were met with flashing lights and loud music and they were escorted to their reserved table which was situated near the dance floor. Without long Kane was dragging Daren and Reggie to the dance floor. The 3 of them danced. Kane was buzzed and leaning a bit on Darren.

Reggie looked up at the raised seating and he spotted the most handsome face he'd seen in his life, or well side profile but he could tell the man was handsome over the dim lights and music. He had a sharp jawline, long wavy hair rested gently on his head, he was drinking what reggae could only assume was alcohol and was wearing a fitted suit with a waistcoat. He couldn't tell what colour it was but he knew the man was expensive. Kane nudged him breaking him out of trance " are you ok " he asked a bit concerned not as buzzed as before " yeah yeah, nothing I just saw someone is all" he shook his head regaining his senses and dancing.

After a while they decided to call it a night Darren drove them back he didn't drink much so it was safe for him to do so, he exchanged numbers with Reggie.

It was eight in the morning there it was already quite bright out Reggie set off to work. It was a shitty small café in the not so good areas of work. The coffees tasted like diluted water and his boss was a jerk, he wasn't friends with his co workers or anything he just did what he could got paid and moved on. He wondered why customers even came, the pastry wasn't too bad so maybe that's why.

He'd been at the till for a bit but their weren't any customers so he sat idly on his phone for a bit whilst he waited, luck however wasn't on his side " Get your ass up and be useful" a voice boomed at him, it was a skinny fading man his head to big for his neck." yes boss ''Reggie said in a monotonous voice, straightened up and put his phone away. The older man walked past and went to the back of the room. With a low grumble, Reggie swept the floor before moving back to the counter. After a while some more customers came and he served them before it was time to go.

The clock struck three which signalled freedom, the boy did not waste any time before gathering his belongings and flying out of the hell hole, he'd been looking for a better job but all applications didn't come out positive but he was hopeful and because he needed a better one for himself and his family.

The journey back to his apartment seemed to fly by and soon enough he was back on his computer and searching for a job. He had a couple of hours before he started his night shift at a hotel. His search did not yield much so he opted for some TV instead something plain and not engaging. A few buzzes from his phone broke him out of his spell; he looked over and it was a call from a name he hadn't seen in a while. Sebastian.

Reggie - hey what's up sorry I missed your call it's been a while how you doing

Sebastian- I'm good i actually did message you a couple of days before but you didn't answer

Reggie paused and thought for a bit about a message? It then dawned up on him that he did receive a message he was just so out of it to respond, he apologised. The old friends caught up with one another telling jokes and experiences and how busy they had both been.

" well the main reason for my call was that I seen a great job opportunity for you " Sebastian said thrilled, Reggie was hesitant but before he could speak " Don't worry I'm not offering you a job at my company, there's a secretary position open at Fusion a big fashion design company I've sent your resume and you have an interview next week" Sebastian screamed in excitement. The other sat there digesting all that he had heard and tears started forming " hey are you there " his friend chimed " yes yes I'm here I'm just in shock thank you so much I'm wow " Reggie croaked hardly being able to hold his tears back. "It's literally nothing, you're my best friend" he comforted the crying boy.

Sebastian went on to explain all that he needed to know and emailed him some of the things that he needed to know about the company.

If he gets the Job it will change everything for him.
