The air was cool and not too warm. Both men were lightly bundled up. It had been two weeks since Oliver's confession but neither of them had really done anything out of the ordinary, they told their friends who were ecstatic. Orion, Justin and Celeste gushing on how they were gonna be the next power couple and how they were rooting for them.
It's nice that all their friends support 'them' although there technically isn't a them yet but still. Regie didn't want to be too forward and offer to go on a 'date' ; he wanted Oli to take the lead. Or maybe it was the fear he'd push him away if he came on too strong or forward. In all he didn't want to fuck anything up in the slightest
Regie was at his desk typing away reviewing some documents. It was late tonight and he stayed a bit over time not wanting to complete the work at home, all other staff apart from night rounds had gone. A figure he was very much accustomed to came up to him, his hair a little dishevelled, and tired but in his eyes the epitome of beauty.
"Hey, I was wondering if you would like to go to the arcade with me tomorrow" Oliver licked his lips nervously.
Regie could tell Oliver was nervous,he hadn't done this sort of thing before and to be fair neither has he after his last relationship ended he didn't have time to date always working and when not he was sleeping in order to wake up and work. A very toxic cycle he's glad he's out of.
"Yeah that's good with me" he smiles in response
"Ok yeah we can go in the afternoon, do you want me to drop you off or..." Oliver put his hands in his pockets
"No I'm good, I'll stay a little bit longer and then go home" Regie gestures to the papers that were on his desk Oliver nods and bid the latter fair well.
The evening of the date came along quickly. Regie decided to meet Oliver at the arcade, turning down his offer to pick him up. He wanted to use the time to mentally prepare for it as well. Orion, Celeste came to the apartment to sike him up for the date like he wasn't already siked up, and told him to just go for it and with the flow. That's what he's going to do.
He pushed the door of the arcade open the lights were dim he couldn't see anyone around which he found strange he almost blended in with his dark cargo trousers and dark jumper with yellow writing on it as well as his now freshly dyed black hair. Orion insisted that he should go back to natural black, and he gave in because he was thinking of it too.
"Hello, like the hair " a familiar hand touched his shoulder, it was Oliver dressed similar to him with black sweatshirt and some black jeans and a silver necklace.
"Hey , thank you, how are you and where is everyone" Regie asked hugging Oliver "I rented it out and didn't want any distractions whilst you know.." Oliver laughs, embarrassed he doesn't understand why he is though. ''No no its great lets get started then" Regie says walking up to the Basketball arcade machine "lets see who wins, I'm not gonna loose this time" Oliver smirks.
They play a couple of round Oliver coming out first Regie didn't let him win he genuinely tried his best but Oliver got him beat unfortunately. "No one beats the beater" Oliver says proudly laughing at Regie's salty face. "Maybe next time little boy" Oliver taunts he was having too much fun it had been ages since he'd been in an arcade and it was refreshing.
"I have beat the beater though" Regie moves closer to Oli so they are barely inches apart his is is mirth with something he is not used to, he sees how's Regies eyes flicker to his own his cheeks turning bright vermillion, it reminds him of the time months ago when they were in a compromising position. Oliver steps back laughing a little going to the next game.
Regie chuckles lightly he liked seeing Oliver flushed and his toothy smile it was fun teasing him.
Oliver was over at the claw machine trying to win a particular blue lobster but failing multiple times Regie cheered him on soon enough he was tired of it and told the other he was going to the toilet.
