Chapter 6: Mischievous

Max's POV

After what happened on that day, Jane started to show what she really can do. Lagi na syang nagtataas ng kamay every time na may class discussions or questions yung mga teacher namin. She was like a different person. What's worst is kapag nakakasagot sya, she will look to us---the pack, before she sits while putting a mischievous grin on her lips.

Why Jane? Bakit mo ginagawa 'to? Stop, lalong matritrigger lang sayo sila Jace. Yan na lang ang nasasabi ko sa sarili ko, everytime na pinapakita mo kung gaano ka katalino.

Lalo lang akong nagwoworry kapag may kinokorek kang someone from the pack--- kapag nakasagot ng mali. You will notice immediately kapag mali yung sagot namin, kaya magtataas ka agad ng kamay to correct us. You are too bold.

"Who discovered atom?" one time na tanong ni Mrs. Rivera during our Chem class. She's our class adviser. Sobrang close nya sa amin, lalo na sa aming mga boys, since nasasakyan nya lahat ng jokes at kalokohan namin. So natural lang na confident ang pack during her class.

Jace raises his hand.

"Yes, Jace."sabi ni Ma'am

"It's John Dalton." sagot ni Jace.

"Okay, is that right class?" follow up question ni Ma'am habang naglalakad sya paikot sa classroom

And you immediately raise your hand.

"Yes, Jane?" as Mrs. Rivera smiled at her. At that point, sure akong alam nyang icocorrect mo si Jace.

"It was the Greek philosopher Democritus who first introduced the idea of the atom. However, it was forgotten for more than 2000 years. Then in 1800, John Dalton re-introduced it. Dalton might be the father of modern atomic theory, but we can't consider him as the one who discovered the atom." you answered boldly again. Again.

"As always, Jane will answer it correctly and will add more facts." papuri sayo ni, Ma'am.

I can hear the sarcasm in your tone. Talagang plano mong galitin kami. And you use your knowledge to play on us mischievously.

Kung ipagpapatuloy mo to di ko na alam kung pano pa kita ipagtatanggol sa kanila.

Jace's POV

Hindi ako nakareact agad, when I heard how Jane correct me. It was embarrassing. Sh*t! ang tanga mo Jace! Bakit kasi masyadong confident ka?

At that moment, I realized that I can never beat her in academics. She's way out of our league. Halimaw kung sa halimaw. But what can I do? talagang nakakairita sya, lalo na kapag nangiti sya nang ganon, parang pinaglalaruan nya lang kami.

Ano bang dapat naming gawin to get back on you?

Nagring ang bell, telling that this period ended. Lumabas kami ng sabay-sabay ng boys.

"Jace okay ka lang?" tanong ni Vauhgn.

"Okay lang yon Jace, may next time pa naman." Phillip said as he patted my back to comfort me.

"Pre, cheer up! we still admire you. May isa nga dito, hindi alam ang sagot eh, kahit si Dalton di kilala." sabi ni Jake sabay tingin kay Vance na parang nanunukso.

"Oo nga boss, iDota na lang natin yan after class, para mawala stress mo." dagdag ni Jules.

"Jules!" sabay-sabay na saway ng tropa.

"Ano?!!!" sagot ni Jules

Napahalakhak na lang ako ng malakas. Jules never cease to amaze me.

"You made my day, pare. Thank you, sige mamaya susugod tayo sa tambayan, boys."
