The Eyes Have Me

Chapter 8

"Hey Arrow, can I ask you a question?" Mylo asks while he asks while he sits behind the counter with me while I am working at the Inn.

He isn't working today, but Callie is currently working at her job, and Axel and Mr. Brown are out purchasing supplies for the Inn. I have an hour left of my shift before Janice comes in for the over night shift.

"Sure, what's up?" I reply with a shrug as I continue on my task.

"Do you have feelings for Axel?" he asks bluntly causing me to stop my task to look at him in confusion.

"Huh? Sure, I guess since he is my friend," I answer with a shrug, not fully understanding what he truly meant by his question.

Mylo lets out a soft sigh as he stares at me intently; "No man, do you like him in a romantic way?"

My jaw drops slightly in surprise at his question; "Oh, I mean, yeah, but I won't do anything about it since he was your friend first. I'm just happy to be his friend."

Mylo instantly frowns at me; "Dude, that isn't necessary. I am cool with you and Axel dating if that were to happen. You have my blessing, not that you need it."

"What is this about Arrow and me dating?" Axel's deep voice asks from the door of the Inn.

Cue the whole body blush that instantly covers my entire body as Mylo smirks at me before answering Axel; "I was telling Arrow that I thought it would be great if you guys dated."

Groaning loudly at his honest answer, and I peak at Axel to find him grinning broadly at me; "Well, that is great since we are dating already."

Mylo's jaw drops at Axel first, and then he frowns at me as he demands, and his voice sounds slightly hurt; "When were you going to tell me this?"

"Um, I was going to tell you this after my shift today," I admit, my blush deepening as I feel guilty. "I am sorry if this upsets you as it wasn't my intention."

Mylo instantly frowns at me; "Arrow, I am not upset about this, not at all. I am just surprised is all. I am happy for the both of you! Now, the four of us can go on double dates together!"

"So, hanging out like we normally do?" Axel immediately replies with a chuckle with a large grin, and twinkling eyes.

Mylo instantly sticks out his tongue at Axel while flipping me off when I loudly laugh at my boyfriends answer. When my shift ends, the three of us head to my room so I can change into comfy clothes before we head out to pick up Callie. We are hanging out tonight, we are going to an outdoor music concert with several musicians and bands that are up and coming.

Mylo has packed the back of his red, 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with four lawn chairs, a small cooler with soft drinks and waters, and a cloth bag filled with snack foods.

"Are you almost done, Arrow?" Mylo impatiently asks from outside of the closed bathroom door where I am changing my clothes.

"Yeah," I answer as I open the door while holding my dirty work clothes across my right arm.

I am dressed in a pair of black leggings, black socks, black combat boots, and a dark lavender t-shirt. Grabbing my wallet, cell, and keys off the dresser after tossing my clothes in the hamper. The three of us leave to pick up Callie, and then head to the park for the music concerts. When we arrive at the park, Mylo and Axel grab the supplies from the back while Callie heads over to the booth to trade in the tickets for the arm bands. When she has the bands, she joins us, and gives us our wrist bands with a bright smile. She plops onto her empty chair that is in between Mylo and m with a wide grin.

The concert starts ten minutes later, and the concert ends about three hours later. All of the musicians and bands were amazing! I would definitely see any of the musicians and bands again! Mylo, Callie, and Axel seem to have enjoyed as well, if I can judge their enjoyment by their huge grins.

"Hey, did you have a good time, love?" Axel asks after we have picked up our belongings, and are heading toward the Jeep.

"Definitely! Did you?" I answer with a huge grin, and a slight bounce in my step.

"Yup!" Axel answers as Mylo and Callie agree with his answer.

Climbing into the Jeep once the stuff is back in the back of the trunk, Axel and I are sitting in the back with Callie sitting up front in the passenger seat. Mylo drives us to a local cafe to have a late dinner. Upon arriving at the cafe fifteen minutes later, we enter, and are seated immediately.

After ordering our food and drink, Axel's eyes focus on something or someone over Mylo's right shoulder, and he quietly asks us; "Anyone know the guy wearing the pink shirt over by the entrance that is starring at us?"

Picking my head up slightly to see who Axel is talking about, and my jaw drops in shock when I realize that the guy is my dad.

"That guy is my dad," I murmur in shock as I stand from my seat. "I will be right back, please stay here."

Not waiting for an answer from them, I walk toward my dad at a quick pace. I have no fucking idea why he is here in a Red territory when he is a Blue.

Stopping in front of my frozen father, I lowly demand in fear; "Why are you here? You are a Blue in Red territory, are you trying to get yourself killed?"

When he silently blinks at me, I grab his shoulders to gently shake him in attempt to get an answer, he then softly says; "I needed to tell you and Able the news?"

"What news?" I demand, becoming more irritated at his lack of explanation.

"Your mum died," he bluntly and blankly states. "I was granted permission by the government to track yours and Abel's cells to tell you in person. Her funeral will be held in a neutral location so anyone can attend. Where is Abel, so I don't have to track him, too?"

His tone and facial expression are void of any emotion which is horrifying as is his news.
