When you meet them

Being the cousin of a women who accused the City's vigilantes of being giant Ninja Turtles was..well tiring. You weren't embarrassed of her, no, you believed her. The thing was, some people know who you are because you were featured in a newspaper article, and then the whole situation with April didn't help. You were trying to stay off the radar.

Let's just say you were arrested for destruction of someone's property. Really it was just your ex's shit but he filed a complaint so you were arrested. It had been a few days after April picked you up from the County Jail when she explained her theory to you. It took a bit of the evidence she had collected but after looking upon it you didn't think it was a crazy theory. You were always by her side when she went to the labs. Hell your the one who named them. You helped April save them that day. She handed you the box and told you to run for the exit, and so you did.

Soon after April came crying to you, saying that she couldn't find her father. You comforted her and reassured her that everything would be okay.

Years later when April finally got the answers she was looking for, she decided she would go after her lead. By herself. When she finally met the brothers and their father it's simple to say they were confused. Asking where you were, were you alright, many different questions. April told them that you were..okay. Or in her words.. "She's fine physically but I don't know about mentally anymore".

Soon after her introduction with them she decided it would be a good idea to set up a meeting for you and the brothers. She knew you cared for them as well, maybe even more than she did. She told them the plan and once set up, it was set into action.

1st pov..

I am currently standing in the park while I wait for my cousin, April, to show up. I am quite curious as to where she has been lately. She's always sneaking out of the apartment at late hours of the night, and she didn't even come home last night. What if she's been going out to bars or something? And last night she finally had a one night stand?! Oh my God..this is the moment in the movies where the idiot confesses she's pregnant to her protective mom.

I was snapped out of my theory when April tapped my shoulder from behind. I whipped around to see her nervous figure, fidgeting in her spot. I give her a suspicious look but keep my mouth shut. She makes eye contact with me and looks around for a moment.
"Are you going to say-"
"Where the hell have you been sneaking out to lately?" I interrupt her. She stands there with her lips in a straight line, looking like a doe in head lights.
"Why didn't you come back last night?" I cross my arms and smirked at her nervous expressions.
"What's wrong? Caught in a rut?" I teasingly ask. She visibly gulps and I roll my eyes.
"I haven't been doing anything wrong y/n I've just been following a lead that that has been interesting-" I groan and cover her mouth.
"I was joking April. Your a grown..sort of grown woman, I couldn't care less about what you do at night" I said. She lets out a satisfied sigh and puts her hand on my shoulder.
"Good, anyway I have people I want you to meet" She said it so casually, I was expecting men in leather to show up on bikes and ask me to go back to their place.

Not this!!

Four giant rough and deadly looking turtle ninja things. They jumped down behind April and their just standing there, staring at me. They are perfectly lit up by the moon light so I can see their details clearly.

All four of them have the normal shell and plastron protection. Yet they all are very muscular and have different colored masks covering their eyes. Well not covering their eyes, but it's more like a ninja mask. One is orange, one is purple, one is red and the last one is blue. Each one of them have different choices of weapons; twin katanas, twin sais, a Bo staff and a Dual nunchakus.

I couldn't help but stare at these tall creatures. I'm not too surprised due to April's theories a week earlier. I finally blink a few times and look to April.
"So?" She asks, curiosity in her voice. I take another look at them and let out a deep sigh.
"So we actually saved them" I said. She stood flabbergasted for a moment, they all did.
"That's all have to say?" She asks. I swallow some spit but take a moment to look into each one of their eyes.
"Yeah.. We saved them" I mumble mostly to myself. April takes her hand from my shoulder and pinches the bridge of her nose.
"Y/n You know your not dreaming right? This is real, they are real" She gestured to the turtles behind her and the one in the orange mask gave me a small wave before getting popped in the head by the one in red.
"Oh yeah.. I am well aware that there are four giant muscular ninja turtles standing in front of me" I nod at her. She just looks at me and shakes her head.

"You are unbelievably calm about this" Said the one in purple. I take a wild guess from memory and decide to freak them out a but more.
"Why wouldn't I be Donatello? I saved you from a mysterious laboratory after it so coincidentally caught on fire.. Destroying everything in it" I said with a small smile. He blinks a few times which look funny due to his big dorky glasses.

"And your not scared of us?" Said the red one.
"Not unless your secretly planning to kill me Raphael. Should I be scared?" I joke. He crosses his arms and spits out his toothpick that had been resting in his teeth.
"Your so cool dudette!" Said the orange one. I smiled and couldn't help but laugh a little. Of course this is how he turned out.
"Not so bad yourself Michelangelo" I finger gun at him. At this point all the anxiety I felt about them before has faded away. It's funny to freak them out and confuse them honestly. Last to speak was the blue masked one, he seemed to most controlled compared to his brothers.

"Despite everything y/n, were grateful that you saved us that day" He bowed a little and I shrug and was about to mimic his action before deciding against it. I probably would embarrass myself somehow.
"It's my honor Leonardo" I say. He gives me a small yet warm smile and I couldn't help but feel warmth rise to my cheeks. He had beautiful ocean blue eyes.

Out of nowhere April grabs my shoulder and startles me a bit. I had forgotten she was even here. Maybe she's the ninja.
"

This is what I meant about her well being" I raise my eyebrow at her and sigh.

"Says you" I mumble. She looks at me so fast I think her neck nearly snapped. Man I got whiplash just from looking at her.
"What does that mean?" She questioned, now folding her arms over her chest. I smirk smugly and make my way past her.
"Oh nothing" I shrug my shoulders and stuff my hands in my pockets while walking past the turtle brothers. I can feel them staring into the back of my head as I make my way back to my bike.

I have a feeling that I'll be seeing them very soon..
