Michael's POV
As I walked into the vinyl store that Ashton told me about during second period today, I couldn't help but notice a blonde boy with a blue flower crown sitting at the counter staring at some papers in confusion. I had seen him around at school some, but I never paid much attention to him considering he was the one that my friends liked to mess with.
I somehow had managed to become friends with the schools biggest idiots who only cared about who they were going to beat up that day. Although, Ashton and Calum weren't like that and neither was I. I wasn't the type of person just to beat someone up for the fun of it.
I walked over to the counter and he didn't notice my presence until I spoke. "Where are the newest vinyl's at?"
He looked up from his homework with shock etched into his eyes. He was probably surprised that someone was here, considering this place is pretty dead. He stared at me for a few seconds until he finally managed to get words to escape his mouth. "They're across the whole wall on the left side of the store."
I nodded and headed over to where he had said. "If you need help with anything let me know." I heard him call from behind me. I didn't bother to answer, I'm pretty sure he knew that I had heard him. I started skimming through all the vinyl's until I finally saw one that I didn't have, Green Day's second album, Kerplunk. A small smile appeared on my face as I walked back up to the counter the blonde boy was sitting at. I set the vinyl on the counter and he looked surprised with my choice.
"You like Green Day?"
"Who doesn't?" Everyone likes Green Day, and by everyone I mean everyone. You can't just not like Green Day.
"Old people," he guessed, "What's your favorite song by them?"
"Either Jesus of Suburbia or St. Jimmy." I replied. He nodded in agreement as he started messing with his pencil.
"You favorite album must be American Idiot, then."
"Yeah, it is." He scanned the vinyl into the computer and I pulled out my wallet.
"23.95" I handed him the right amount of cash and he handed me back the vinyl.
I started to walk away, but then turned back to see him looking back down at the papers. "By the way, what's your name?"
He looked up at me then spoke. "Luke."
Luke. I'd definitely remember that name. "I'm Michael, but you probably already know that."
He just looked back down at the papers and said "Yeah, I do."
"I'll see you around, Luke." I walked out of the store with my Green Day vinyl in hand then headed over to my car. I sat down in the drivers seat and drove to Ashton's house with Luke on my mind the whole time.
Once I reached his house, I walking inside without bothering to knock and headed up to his room where I found Ashton and Calum laying on the bed staring up at the ceiling.
"Michael's hereeee." Calum sang and patted the spot next to him. Instead of sitting next to him, I went and sat next to Ashton who just burped.
"So Michael, what's new in the hour that I haven't seen you?" Ashton asked looking up at me.
"Do you guys know Luke?"
"Do you know how many Luke's there are? I'm sure there are like 200 in our class." Calum answered stupidly.
"Calum, shut up," Ashton smacked him in the side of the head, "You mean Luke Hemmings? The one with the blonde quiff?"
"Yeah, I ran into him today at the vinyl store you told me about."
"Did you literally run into him or?" Calum asked. God, everything that's coming out of his mouth right now is stupid. Did someone hit him several times in the head with a basketball today because he wasn't this stupid yesterday.
"Yes Calum, I literally ran into Luke, and then he died."
"Leave poor Calum alone, he's just having a stupid day," Ashton patted Calum on the head, "but why are you asking about him?"
"I don't know, there's just something about him." And the fact that I want to know more about him, but I'm sure as hell not telling them that.
"All I know about Luke is that he's not very popular and works at the vinyl shop. Do you like him or something?" Ashton's eyes studied me looking for any type of reaction to his comment but I kept my face neutral.
"No, I don't swing that way. How many times do I have to tell you that?" Ashton is convinced that I like guys. I don't. I have never been attracted I'm pretty sure I'll never be.
"You don't swing that way, but your still thinking about Luke?" He smirked.
"I'm not thinking about him, I just wanted to know who he was."
"Okay then, but If you ending up liking him or something I get to be the first to tell you I told you so." I just shook my head and he started a conversion up with Calum.
I'm not gonna start liking Luke. I think.
