Hey, Michael." Sam, one of my closest friends that was actually a girl, said walking up beside me as I walked toward my history class.
"Sam, what do I owe this pleasant surprise of you gracing me with your presence?" I asked as we neared the class. Why are we forced to take history classes? What I want to do with my life does not involve history at all so why force us to take it?
"Calum came complaing to me about how you were mad at him or something so I am here to tell you to apologize to him."
"Why do I have to apologize?" People were starting to file into the class completely ignoring Sam and I sitting in the back corner.
"You slapped him, and might I add, you left a nice hand print on his face." She started tapping her pencil against the desk.
"Yeah, I did." I confirmed.
"So go apologize." The teacher decided to walk in cutting off Sam and I's conversation. I guess she'll annoy me about apologizing to him later, when we won't get written up for talking.
When the bell finally decided to ring, she stood up from her desk and gave me a look. "Michael Clifford, go apologize to him."
"No." I stood up next to her. I was a good couple inches taller than her, but that didn't matter. She would still kick my ass if she had to.
"Michael, I swear to god if you don't apologize to the boy this instant I will tell the school what you did last summer while we we're on vacation."
Of course she's still using that against me. She never let's anything go. "Fine." I groaned and left the class to find Calum with her following.
I found him standing at his locker with Ashton talking about something that looked rather important.
"Calum, I need to talk to you." I stood in front of him and he looked at me wearily.
"What is it?"
"I'm so sorry slapping you the other day," I felt Sam poke me in the back so I continued, "I know it was wrong of me to do that. I just didn't like the fact that you were saying something that wasn't true at the time."
"What do you mean at the time? Do you actually like Luke?" Calum asked sounding surprised. I guess he was just messing with me and didn't actually think that I like Luke like that.
"Yeah, but it doesn't matter." By now Sam decided to walk away with a satisfied smirk plastered on her face.
"Why does it not matter?" Ashton asked leaning against the lockers next to Calum's.
"He's mad at me." I shrugged.
"And why is that?" Calum asked, "Already fuck things up with him, Clifford?"
"I really don't know what happened, " I ran my fingers threw my hair as they both stared at me, "One minute everything was fine and the next he was pissed at me."
Of course the bell decided to ring and I sighed. An hour and a half of sitting next to Luke.
"We'll help you get him back, mate." Ashton said before him and Calum headed to their class. I made myself head towards the class and Luke was already in his seat when I finally reached the class. He didn't bother to look up when I sat next to him. The cut on his lip was starting to heal up, but you could tell he tried to cover it with make up. It was still very visible.
"Will you stop staring at me!" Luke snapped glaring at me for a second before looking back at his desk.
"No." I stated as the teacher stood up fr her desk and turned to write something on the board.
"What do you freaking want with me?" He asked not looking up at me.
"I already told you, I want to be friends with you." What else would I want from him?
"You don't want to be friends with me."
"Why the fuck would I not want to be friends with you?" I started, "Because I actually do want to be friends with you and you would have known why if you hadn't of left yesterday."
He looked at me for a second before looking back at the teacher where she was trying to get everyone quiet. She started talking about some project or something but I didn't bother to pay attention. I don't need this class to graduate, I already have enough credits to get out of this place.
"Luke, you'll be working with Michael." I turned to look at the teacher to see her looking between the two of us.
"What're we working on?" I aked Luke and he just shook his head.
"You weren't even paying attention were you?" He asked and I stared at him. "I'm stuck doing a project, which is over half of our grade, with you."
