Chapter 3- Brandon

Ring, Ring, Ring! There's the bell. Time to go see Ashlynne again. Woo hoo. I'm currently waiting for Ashlynne to walk out the door of her classroom. When she finally does come out, I see that Jade kid is walking with her. I hate him, and he bugs me. He's the only reason I'm still going out with Ashlynne. To make him jealous. When she finally reaches me, I instantly wrap my arms around her waist, watching Jade the whole time. I then whisper to Ashlynne that I love her and how she's the star to my burst, the peanut to my butter. Incredibly stupid things that she thinks are incredibly cute. I knew saying those things would make her giggle, so when she does, I look at Jade. When I look at him I see the longing in his eyes. I turn Ashlynne around and we walk away, leaving Jade to himself. I walk to the cafeteria with Ashlynne, but before we get into the lunch line, I tell her," Hey I have to go get help with math, so I won't be able to sit with you at lunch today, okay?"

She looks at me with disappointment, then perks up just as fast and says cheerfully,"Ohkay!" I start walking away and heading out to the parking lot to meet up with the girl I'm actually in love with, Miranda. I don't really feel bad about lying to Ashlynne about going to get help with math. I mean, if it means being with Miranda, I could care less about what I do to Ashlynne.

After school I wait outside Ashlynne's house for Ashlynne to get her skateboard. When she finally comes out of her house, I see Jade. And oh look, he's got his skateboard. Great, thanks Ashlynne. "You ready to go sweetheart?" 

"Yup!" she says with that ugly smile of hers spread across her face. I give her a weak smile back. Jade stands there awkwardly, like he's hopelessly lost. We hop on our boards and start making our way to the skate park. On the way there, I see Miranda walking the opposite way. I waved to her and, making sure Ashlynne doesn't see, wink at her. Miranda giggled and waved back. I was hoping nobody but Miranda saw me wink, but as I face forward I see Jade's head turn away with a look of disgust smeared on his face. "What?" Ashlynne asks Jade.

"It's nothing." as Ashlynne gave him a look he continued by saying,"I'll tell you later."

" 'Kay." Ashlynne said with curiosity in her voice. She and I exchanged a glance.

That night, I recieved a phone call from Ashlynne. She started flipping out at me before I could even say hello. "How could you? Cheating on me?! You, jerk!" she yelled.

"What are you talking about, Hun?" I asked, trying to sound innocent.

"Don't call me 'Hun'. You know exactly what I'm talking about."

"I honestly don't. Who told you this?" I asked, though I already knew.

"Jade. He said he saw you wink at that Miranda girl. I know it was just a wink, but when guys have girlfriends, they don't wink at any other girl besides their girlfriend." She sounded as if she were about to cry. 

"Hey, hey. Don't cry, baby. You know that I would NEVER cheat on you. And I never will. I promise. Jade is probably lying to you. Just trying to break us up so he can have you all to himself." 

"Well... I just... I don't know. Jade would never lie to me..."

"You never know, babe. It's possible." 

"So you're saying to me that Jade lied to me about seeing you wink at that Miranda girl?" she said, obviously trying to change the subject.

"Yes." I said, trying to reasure her. "I didn't wink, but I did wave. I was just trying to be friendly." I continued.

"You promise?" she said hopefully.

"I swear."

"Okay... I belive you." she said

" 'Kay. I love you. I'll see you in the morning, alright?" 

"Mmkay. I love you too." she said calmly. Then I hung up. Great. I get to go and act like she's my girlfriend again, I said to myself. Who knew that there was a little spier outside my window listening to every word I said.
