Yeah, I kind of figured Ashlynne's mom wouldn't be too moved to see me. As we stand outside, I start to think that Ashlynne's mom, (A/N so i dont know if we gave ashlynnes mom a name as well as the rest of her family, so imma make some up... if we already have, sorry! also, please let me know if we have so we can fix it. thanks!) Susie, will invite Jade in, glare at me, then slam the door in my face. "Why don't you come in boys." she says. Jade walks in first and I'm moving quite slowly and cautiously, afraid that at any moment, the door will come to greet my face. But surprisingly, I walk through the door and into the house unharmed.

"Help yourselves to the muffins. They're blueberry." Susie tells us. We both help ourselves to one, and one only. It's completely silent until Mr. Wilson (Tom) walks through the garage door and into the kitchen where we all are gathered.

"Why are you boys here?" Tom asked us.

"Well, we just thought we would come up to comfort you... You know... Because of Ashlynne..." Jade answered.

"Oh. Well, that was nice of you two, but we're doing just fine." Susie replys as cheerfully as she can.

"No we're not." retorts Ashlynne's little brother Alex, who just suddenly appeared in the doorway.

"Yes we are, Alex. Now get your butt upstairs and do your homework." Susie said to her son through gritted teeth.

"No, we're not, Mom. You're a reck. You can't eat or sleep. Dad keeps shutting everyone out, and Jackie's been crying all the fricken time because her big sister is gone and you don't have the decency to go and talk to her. And guess what? I have to put up with all of it! Yeah, I miss Ashlynne like crazy, but at least I'm not taking it out on everyone like you and Dad!" he said, his voice raising.

"I said, 'Go do your homework.'" Susie said a tad bit louder and firmer.

"IT'S ALREADY DONE!" he yelled.

"Then GO TO YOUR ROOM!" she yells right back at him.

"Stop yelling at him." Tom says with a firm, loud voice. It then got really quiet. Jade and I exchange a glance.

"Well, I think we'd better get going. We'll talk to you guys later, Mrs. Wilson. Mr. Wilson. Alex." I said. And with that, we leave. As soon as we shut the front door, we hear a little bit more yelling and then some crying.

"Their family is being torn apart without Ashlynne." I said.

"Looks like Ashlynne kept everything in order around there." said Jade.

"Well, that gives us all the more reason to search for her."

"Yeah, I wonder how the search is coming? Can you ask your dad?"

"Of course."

When we get to my house, I ask my dad if they've gotten any suspects as to who kidnapped Ashlynne or any clues as to Ashlynne's whereabouts.

"No, we haven't a clue on either one of those questions... I'm sorry, son."

"It's... fine. Just keep working your hardest."

"We will, without a doubt."

"Will you keep us posted? Let us know what goes on?"

"I will."

I start to walk up the stairs to my room with Jade when I suddenly stop and turn around and say, "Oh, and Dad?"

"Yeah, son?" my dad answers back tiredly.

"Thank you. So much."

To that, my dad's eyes light up. "You're most certainly welcome."

Jade and I continue to walk up the stairs and to my room. I go to close my door, but before I do, I yell out of my room, "I love you!" and then close it. I hear my dad yell the same back and I smile.

"Now what do we do?" Jade asks from my desk chair.

I sigh and plop onto my bed. "I guess we just wait."

***

At school, things aren't going very good. I'm slacking off in class because the entire time I think of places where Ashlynne might be... Where we could search for her. Even who could have possibly taken her. No where and nobody ever pops into my mind. This is miserable... I'm miserable... Jade is miserable... Jade's probably even more miserable because Brandy and Kathy keep coming up to him and asking him if he wants to go to prom with them. Of course, his answer every time is "No." at first it was just a simple "No." but then, it became a yelled "Heck no." They just keep asking and asking and soon it turns to begging. I swear, Jade looks like he's about to shoot them every time they come up to him. But nothing would stop them from coming up to him and asking the same question over and over.

Finally, Jade just broke down one day and yelled this big long lecture about how he "will NOT go to prom" with them, and even though they keep asking him to go, it will always be a no. Then, at the end, he told them to leave him alone and let him be, and not to even bother coming up to him because he won't reply. I feel pretty bad for him. Brandy can get pretty annoying... Especially with Kathy. Then it's double the annoyance. I went up to him after he yelled at 'em and let him cool down before I spoke. "You okay?" I asked him.

"Yeah. Fine." he said through gritted teeth.

"I'm sorry. Brandy can get pretty annoying. Especially with Kathy."

"Then it's double the annoyance." he retorted. And that's why we were best friends before we split. We always thought the exact same things. Especially when it came to my cousin. "I just got tired of them asking me and asking me to go to Prom with them, ya know? All I can think about is Ashlynne right now, and they are making it so much worse." Jade continued.

"I feel ya, bro. I feel ya."

Who would've guessed that Brandy was right around the corner, listening to every single word we just said about her. Taking in each and every detail.
