"You didn't have to pick me up, I was almost home." Ashlynne said quietly. I laughed.

"Almost home? Come on Ashlynne, you and I both know you live 3 miles away from the school. You were not almost home." I looked over at her. Her hair was dripping wet and her make-up was smeared all over her face. She was shivering. "Where is your jacket?" I asked with concern in my voice.

"I left it at home, I didn't know I would be left walking home." I couldn't stand seeing her so cold, I took off my jacket and handed it to her. "Here." She looked up at me and smiled a little bit. She took it and put it on. That smile made my heart break. How could Brandon lie to her again? When I was pulling out of the school I saw Miranda get into Brandon's car, but I can't tell Ashylnne. She will think I'm lying like last time, I can't bare to lose our friendship. We pulled up into her drive way. She handed my jacket back to me and got out. I held out the jacket like I was going to give it back to her. I wanted her to keep it. I liked it when she wore it, but I couldn't say that so I just watched her as she walked up to her door.

She banged her hand against her head. She walked over to the garage and saw that it wasn't open. I rolled down my window and yelled through the pounding rain, "Are you locked out?" She nodded her head. "Get in." She walked back over to my truck reluctantly and hoped in. She was so wet, it looked like she jumped into a swimming pool. I gave her my jacket and smiled happyily when she accepted it. I looked back at her, she was shivering to death. How can Brandon let her walk home in the rain? I drove to my house. "You can stay here until your mom gets home."

"T-t-ha-a-an-n-k-s" She stuttered. She is freezing. She was shivering so bad, my heart broke to see her like this. We walked into my house. "Uh, I guess you can barrow some of my clothes," I said while I ran my fingers through my hair," They won't fit, but I guess it's better than wearing wet clothes."

"O-o-okay." she said as I walked into my room and found my old sweats that are to small for me and a t-shirt. I threw them at her and she walked into the bathroom to change. I went to the pantry and grabbed hot chocolate and marshmallows. Ashlynne will only drink hot chocolate with only five marshmallows. I don't know why, I never really asked. Ashlynne then walked out of the bathroom. She was holding the pants up and she kept tripping over them because they were so long. The t-shirt was 2 times her size, I couldn't help but laugh at the site of her. "Shut up!" She said but she was laughing too.

"Mmmm do I smell hot chocolate!?" Ashlynne looked so pale, I hope she isn't getting sick from the rain. "Yup here you go." I handed her the hot chocolate and she put it to her soft pink cheek, "It's so warm." She said in relief. I realized that her teeth where chattering like crazy. "Do you want a blanket?" I asked.

"No, I'm fine." Of course she is, Ashlynne always tries to act tough. I went over and got a blanket anyways. I threw it to her. "Gosh Jade your so demanding." she whined.

"And you're so stubborn." I said mocking her tone of voice. She wrapped the blanket around herself and took a sip of her hot chocolate. We sat there in silence for a while. "Sorry those clothes are so big. Too bad I don't live with my mom, you could have worn her clothes." I said breaking the silence. She gave me a weak smile. "No, it's fine."

"I guess no skate boarding today." I was trying to ease up the tension around us. She laughed her musical laugh. "I guess not." Ashlynne said with a hint of disappointment in her voice. I didn't know what to say after that. I looked around and remembered that I just rented a movie last night. "Do you want to watch a movie?"
