The next day at school was a blur- the Friday buzz was swimming in the air as all of the pupils wanted to start their weekend. I personally wanted to start and end my weekend with Netflix, but that wasn't in the cards for me.
"Get in losers!" I gestured over to Macy and Nola. Mike decided to head off after school to hang out with some friends so I didn't need to wait for his slow ass.
"I am so excited for tonight. It has been a long week, we need this." Nola commented as we pulled up to my house.
"You, my friend Nola, is excited for a party?" I asked in shook as I opened the front door. My mum wasn't home as she was with her boyfriend, packing up his house. She knew of our plans tonight and encouraged the girls to stay over so she could make sure we were home safe.
"I know it is strange, but I told Stuart to meet us there and I want to see him. Something about him makes me want to be more open." Nola blushed as she started getting her makeup out to splay on the bed.
"You're too cute." Macy gushed and pinched her cheeks, "Speaking of, I invited Danielle too. She's gonna catch a ride with Cole."
"Guess I will be fifth wheeling then!" I cheered sarcastically as I took a shot- Pregaming at its finest.
"Yeah right girl, Cole will be there so you two can make googly eyes at each other." Macy snickered as she grabbed the alcohol from me and took a swig herself.
I ignored her remark and focused on going through my closet for something to wear to the party. I eventually found a floral corset crop top with spaghetti straps which I paired with a white skater skirt and matching wedge shoes. I figured, since I'm at a party, I will be dancing so I put my hair into a curly ponytail with light makeup. Nothing worse than makeup dripping off your face with sweat. That is a recipe for bad photos and clogged pores.
The girls decided to follow my lead with light makeup and similar hairstyles. Nola wore a cute summer dress and Macy decided to go a little bit out there with a black leather skirt with a matching black leather bralette. Even I could admit, looking in this mirror, we looked great.
"Ok girls, selfie time!" Macy grabbed us and squeezed us together for a photo.
I left a note for my mum with the address for the party and we walked out the house to Owen's. It was around 8pm and I could hear the music pounding from down the street. The ground was vibrating too and I could already smell the sweat and alcohol. Girls were squealing and boys were chanting as they were doing shots.
We walked inside and I squinted my eyes as the lights rapidly changed colours. I tried to peer of the mass of dancing bodies but I wasn't tall enough. I wanted to seek out Danielle and Cole. Turns out, I didn't have to look too long as Cole eerily stood behind me, breathing down my neck.
"Hello, Cee." I turned around to look Cole in his eyes, I could see him look me up and down, and a flash of shook ran through his eyes.
The girls dispersed to find Stuart and Danielle. I barely muttered goodbye, seeming lost in Cole's eyes.
"Hi..." I trailed as I looked around the party. I guess a part of me feels awkward now as the girls clearly seem to think I am into him and out near kiss at the beach and constant flirting. I really didn't know how to handle these situations.
"You're acting off, let's let loose and dance." Cole left no room to argue as he grabbed my hand in his and dragged me to the makeshift dance floor at the center of the room. I instinctively put my hands on his shoulders as his drifted down to my waist. We were squeezed up close together due to the amount of people there, and I started to sweat due to the sheer heat- I wasn't sure if the heat came from the surrounding bodies or from the way Cole was staring at me. He looked like he wanted to eat me alive; I am still trying to work out if that's a good thing or not.
We started to drift closer together, if that was even physically possible, and his hands slid lower down, dangerously close to my butt. We swayed slightly to the beat of the music, and when the tempo changed, I decided to turn around to my back was to his hips. Feeling free from the alcohol, I swayed my hips against his. He hissed from behind me and ran his hands over my lower stomach and waist. From this position, I could see Macy and Danielle in the corner giving us the thumbs up. I hastily turned back around, and continued to lose myself in the music, alcohol and Cole.
...
"Cee, take a shot! Don't be a bore," Owen, the host of the party goaded. He knew I would not back down to a challenge even though I was on the edge of black out drunk. I threw my head back as the cool liquid trickled down my throat.
"Now it's your turn, you can't miss out," I handed him a shot and he quickly obliged.
The room started to sway as the effects of drinking too much started to settle. I planted my hands on the counter and sloppily climbed on. I started swaying to the beat, losing my self completely.
"Celia, get your arse down from there before you make an even bigger arse of yourself and fall," I could feel Cole trying to pry me down but I batted his hands away and continued to dance.
"No! Either join me or go, but I am having fun."
"Oh girl, I am defo joining you!" Macy exclaimed out of no where and quickly pulled herself up next to me.
She grabbed my hands and we started moving together, I wrapped my hands around her neck and she put hers around my back. Everyone that knows girls knows that we like to dance flirty with each other without it being weird. Danielle started cheering us on, clearly enjoying the show like the rest of the boys, aside from Cole who looked slightly uncomfortable. I spotted Nola in the corner and waved her over. She must have had a bit to drink as she ran over and hastily joined us, finally coming out of her shell and being free.
All three of us danced together on the counter, oblivious to what anyone around us was saying or thinking. That suddenly ended when the atmosphere shifted and a shiver ran down my spine.
"Hello girls, what a surprise to see you here. Especially you Nola, actually having fun for once," Carlie smirked as Parker hung onto to her every word.
"Bugger off, you are ruining the vibe," Macy dismissed her and went back to dancing with Nola to distract her from Carlie's cruel remark. Me however, I cannot let that go.
"Do you ever wonder why none of us had fun with you? Because you are a soul sucking bitch. Now we are free, we do whatever we want."
"Now that you are free? As if. If anyone is free, it is me. You lot dragged me down. I only associated with you because I felt sorry for you. Speaking of being set free, maybe I should tell Cole why you really started speaking to him again..." Carlie laughed as she knocked back a shot.
"If you ever cared about our friendship, you wouldn't do that." I threatened.
"I did care, which is exactly why I am going to tell him. I am going to do the one thing you won't; admit the truth." With that, Carlie and Parker disappeared into the crowd.
I started off after them, trying to locate Carlie and stop her from running her mouth. I spotted her in the corner with Cole, she was chatting animatedly, her arms flailing around as Cole clenched his jaw. I ran over and pushed her away.
"Shut your mouth," I turned to Cole, "I am so sorry, I was going to tell you but there was never a right time!" I apologised.
"Sorry for what?" He replied, looking confused.
"Oops, I didn't get to the good part yet. Trust me, it is juicy," Carlie slipped away and I was left standing with Cole.
"So, what is going on?"
