Knowing I wouldn't have much time until Cole arrived, I quickly hopped into the shower seeing as I lounged around after getting home from the smoothie bar. I shaved my legs considering it was quite warm outside and I wanted to wear some shorts. My pasty white skin needed to see sunlight too.

Toweling off and drying at a record-breaking speed, I threw on some denim shorts, a tied up white t-shirt with a dinosaur on it, and put a checked shirt on the top just in case it got colder later. Whilst I was brushing my hair, I could hear someone knocking on the door- it must be Cole. I ran towards the stairs but my mother beat me to it.

"Oh my! Cole? Is that you? You've grown up now. Darling, it's great to see you." She gasped as she pulled him into a hug. She always did love him; she was crushed when we drifted apart. She always excused his mean actions towards me as a crush. Him crushing on me? Please, as if.

"Hi, Mrs.Manning." he hugged her back.

"Oh, that's not my title anymore... I'm back to my maiden name: Miss Carter. But, don't call me that; call me Laura." She finally let go of him and pulled him to the living room.

I sprinted down the stairs, not wanting them two to be talking for too long. My mum never knows when to stop talking sometimes.

"Hi, you ready to go?" I asked Cole. He was dressed in his usual; black jeans, grey t-shirt that hugged his muscles, and a pair of black vans. How I wished to be that t-shirt. What the fuck? Shut up brain!

"Where are you two off to then?" My mother butted in.

"We're going bowling." Cole answered back. I didn't know of our plans, but I certainly approve of his decision.

"You kids have fun. Cole, please tell your mother that I would love to have you all over for dinner." She hugged him goodbye, and then did the same to me.

We set off towards the mall, that's where the bowling was. We put on our bowling shoes and requested two games. I protested when he pulled out cash to pay, but he insisted and I promised I'd pay next time.

"So, we should make use of this time..." He said as he walked slowly up to me. He caged me against the wall next to our bowling lane.

"Yeah?" I looked up to him, my mouth suddenly becoming dry.

"Yeah," He leaned down to whisper into my ear. "We should focus on the English assignment. Miss Finn mentioned that she was going to give us a mini assignment to do with the whole partnership thing. We might as well continue getting to know each other." He winked as he pulled away. What a tease.

"Of course, that's the only reason I'm here. I got to get those grades." I mumbled as I picked up the lightest ball and took my turn. "Strike!" I cheered.

"Show off." Cole playfully shoved me and took his turn too. "Would you look at that? I got a strike too." He did a victory dance as he made his way over to me. I rolled my eyes in response.

Most of the game followed in this manner; both of us trying to beat the other, but the scores were neck-and-neck.

"Yes! I win! You lose! Suck it, bitch." I screamed in his dumb face.

"I get it. You don't need to scream." He shook his head at my childish behaviour. "What now? Do you want to go home or do you want to hang out some more?" He asked as we gave our shoes back to the worker.

"I want to spend more time with you if you do..."

"Good, because I want to as well. You know what I'm in the mood for?" I shook my head. "Laser tag." He revealed with a wide grin.
