Jun blinked, exhaling shortly. "M-ma, dad, what are you doing here?"
His mother chuckled, correcting her expensive blazer. "What are you doing? Don't tell me you forgot about brunch today. Why are you dressed," she looked her son up and down, he just stood there in sweatpants that hung low on his hips, indicating he was probably not wearing boxershorts underneath, "like that?"
"We could wait until you're done dressing up, can't take longer than 15 minutes, I'll call the restaurant." His father entered and pulled out his phone, just then glimpsing towards the kitchen and catching sight of the blue-haired woman standing next to the wall, hiding almost. Chao turned around again and rolled his eyes, silent as he had already dialed the restaurant's number.
At the look of Chao's expression Ehuang walked past her husband and also noticed a female quickly disappearing into the kitchen. Curiosity took over the older woman and she quickly trotted over to where Alora hid, Jun couldn't even stop his mother, he could only sigh in desperation.
"Hello?"
Alora spun around and blushed as she came face to face with the woman she cared for in the hospital before, chuckling. "G-good morning...Ehuang, right? I...I hope you're doing alright and uhm..."
Ehuang chuckled at Alora's shyness and clasped her hands quietly. "Oh, I'm doing fine, I'm just...surprised. Well, I'm sorry, I think I forgot your name, weren't you my nurse when I was in the hospital a while ago?"
"Yes, Ma'am...And Alora, Alora Walker-" Alora got interrupted as Jun stepped up to them and cleared his throat. "Ma, how about you and dad go outside and wait in the car."
"Yes, sure, accompany me to the door, would you?" Ehuang stemmed her hands on her hips and Jun inhaled with his eyes closed, knowing what was to come. "Of course..."
Alora watched the two leave and exhaled for the first time in a hot minute, picking on Jun's sweater out of nervosity.
Meanwhile Ehuang shook her head at his son, mumbling as they reached the door. "You forgot the brunch date with your parents for a sex date – with a really hardworking, important nurse at that, how am I supposed to look her in the eyes when I need to go there, God forbid, but what if?! Get the fling out and we go eat. We can't let it slip this time; Mr. Lane is awaiting our arrival."
"Mom, she isn't just a fling, stop talking about her like that. I...I love Alora, and she loves me...I forgot the brunch because we spent time." Jun flushed a deep shade of red as he revealed his feelings about Alora and Ehuang blinked, sighing with a soft smile. "I don't hear that from you often..."
"She's...she's amazing...Do you think it would be okay if she joins us?" Jun fidgeted a little and Chao ended his call, looking at both. "Lane said it's all fine...so?"
