Title Track: The Tortoise and the Hare by Stray Kids

My original version of this story was much shorter, so it took a little longer, but we finally get a feature from an NCT member in this part and he and others will be making appearances in the future of the story :) I gotta keep it a little similar to the original.

I had so many questions I couldn't even begin to spill them to Roxy.

She just went back to getting ready after gushing about how adorable the gesture was.

It was really sweet but ... also a little strange.

How did he get back in the store? How did he know what hotel we were in? Or our room number?

I put it back on and again felt like a million bucks.

"That dress was meant for you." Roxy said with a smile.

"I was with them when he found it. He knew it, too without even really knowing you. It was kinda crazy."

"You were out shopping with them while I was getting dressed?"

"You're really slow at changing, Zeda."

We both laughed and I started to relax.

"We have to be careful tonight. Be more mindful of strangers and stuff...." I mentioned a while later.

"I'm glad you brought that up, actually."

"Like ... no going off alone anywhere and we should both be looking out for each other." I said.

"Isn't that what we always do? When have I not looked out for you? You're the one who took off into that hall with the guys."

I wanted to tell her but ... I was embarrassed.

I was afraid she would either freak out or brush it off and tell me it could have been worse.

I didn't want either.

"Yeah..." I trailed off.

"Anyway, I'm glad you said it because I'm thinking of staying with Chris tonight after the club."

She spoke while she applied her signature bright red lipstick to her full lips.

My eyes widened.

"What? Where am I going to go?" I protested.

"He said he could get us a hotel room somewhere fancy. So, you can stay here. I thought that would work best. Right?"
