Angel's POV
I have an idea for her birthday. Matteo said it's soon and if I want to make this work it'll have to happen within the next few days. It will be better than an old bag of clothes.
*******
"How do you expect to make that work?" Matteo stifled a laugh, trying to hide his amusement.
"I'll figure it out." He smirked, knowing I would need help. His help.
"Alright wise-ass, figure it out then." He brought a glass smugly to his lips, smiling a little more as he brought it down. I nodded, trying to work out what I could do.
I looked around at my familiar surroundings. His house wasn't as nice as mine. Modern white walls and dark floors made the house appear clean, the same trick I had used in the kitchen, but it had an odd, cold feeling. It was modern and tidy, but the natural 'homey' feeling wasn't there.
I felt silly missing Luna, she was only a few minutes away, but the air felt a little colder without her.
"Do we know if she has any family nearby?" I had been afraid to ask her, she seemed to shut down whenever the topic was brought up. She must miss them.
"The boys did a background check, I'll ask them." I never really understood why everyone called them 'the boys' when they were a large group of middle-aged, powerful, merciless men. The boys.
"She has an uncle not far from here, we could transport him by plane." I shifted in the seat, slowly coming back from a tired daze.
"Mhm," I yawned, stretching my arms above my head.
"Fastest flight is tomorrow, does that work?" I nodded, a small smile forming on my face as I fantasized about Luna's reaction. She must miss him.
hey, sorry, I know this is a really short chapter.
