Not many people were around at this time of the day, for the sake of Era's dignity. Because in all her rush to get out of that recovery room, she had just barely managed to slip some slippers on her feet. Not exactly castle worthy. Definitely not something she would like to be seen in.
Era just prayed that whomever did see her, wasn't one to talk ugly.
But she reached her chambers soon enough. And the nurse had indeed escorted her trough all the hallways until reaching it. The woman had walked close by, opening every door before her and keeping her eyes glued to Era's walk. But crossing the threshold to her very own given chambers seemed to suddenly slow the nurse down. In fact, to a complete stop. And that would've been absolutely fine on any normal circumstance, but right now, Era couldn't use the formalities.
The sort-of sleeping gown she had been put in, was well-fitted, sure. But to let it stay that way, the fabric contained a seriously well secured knot. And of course, like the fine designers these healers were, the knot just had to be located on her back. A spot she couldn't reach with her very own hands.
But every patient had a nurse.
"Hey, could you help me with this?" Era asked, reaching for the string as she made her way to the other side of the room—to the pantry Gertrud had storaged her clothes in. Though as suspected, the reaching was without success.
The woman gave her a nervous smile, before her head sagged to look down to the floor. A look which told Era that she couldn't. Or that she wouldn't. Maybe because the nurse was Asgardian? But then again, nurses were there to take care of everyone in need, right?
"Please?" Era asked her, feeling more cramped by the fabric by the second.
This time, a nervous chuckle escaped her lips. So Era looked at her confused, with some fresh clothes in her hands and the drawers to the pantry shut. "I don't think that's very appropriate." The nurse then looked left and right in the long hallway, still standing outside Era's room instead of in. "See, I'm not really a nurse."
Then, a blonde bun turned into loose hanging raven hair. Brown eyes turned into greens. Feminine features turned into sharp jawlines. And a nurse's dress turned into fine Asgardian leather.
Loki.
Era didn't know what emotion she should act on. More than a thousand or so raced as galloping horses trough her mind. Fear was the one she decided to take care off first.
"Get in and close the door." Loki just raised his brows. "By the Norns, just shut the door."
He did as told.
There he stood. The man that had her speechless without even trying. The man who had the butterflies fly by nothing more than a look. The man she kissed. The man who had Era somehow wrapped around his fingers.
"Why did you do that?"
"What? Closing the door? It's because you-"
"Loki, I'm serious." She sighed after cutting not only his words, but his smirk off.
And Loki seemed to understand her need of seriousness. "Your door stood open. I needed to get you out of there somehow."
Era hummed as she pierced with her blue trough the green. The colour of the forest she wasn't afraid to escape in to. "You didn't need to, yet you did. So thank you." She then looked back down from his smile, sighing once more to get her head a little more clear. "But now I need to get out of this." She gestured at her whole body there, referring to the clothes still sticking to her body. "And you're not going to be of much help."
