With the golden star shaped medal bouncing against her chest, and her heels taken off now firm in her hand, did she run trough the castle's hallways. Heavy boots didn't run too far behind her, making her heart jolt and adrenaline spike. Her own giggles, and his chuckles, masked the sound of their combined footsteps, leaving only joy to reach her ears instead.
Her scared nerves had been for nothing. With Loki creating the perfect distractions at the perfect times, her brother and father grounding her to the person she was next to her anxiety, and her new found and old friends pulling her along with conversations made her evening a rather perfect picture.
She drank ale with The Warriors Three, gossiped about both their princes with Sif, danced with Astrid in front of Loki's beautifully tensed face, melted away by how Harald asked Bodil to the dance floor, and took in the amazing view of the evening all together once she sat down next to Gertrud to share a smile, and take a breath.
To top it all off, did she get her very own Asgardian royal honours, in the shape of a golden medal.
There was just one ritual left for the evening. Escaping the handshakes and questions was a bit more difficult then it was last time, seeing the attention both received with the lot they had announced. Now they just needed to make it to the other side. Preferably, Loki's chambers.
With a shriek, she got pulled to the side just as soon as Loki managed to get ahold if her arm. And with another, did her back collide with one of the hall's pillars, though being cut off from making any sound more by the taste of him. Warm, fresh, and like her own a little bit like ale.
With footsteps passing their hiding spot, being seen in the hallway, next to the main, was nowhere left in his mind as he pressed her further against the stone. His hands traveled down her body while hers stayed up, tangled in his hair and demanding to stay in place. Not that she needed to. But he enjoyed the feeling either way.
"You have nerve, love." He whispered against her lips, before he moved his own down her jaw, and up to that very special spot below her ear. "Make me jealous like you did tonight one more time and no safe word in the realm will come to your aid a moment more."
Ah. Well, at least she now knew that Astrid's little plan had worked. At least he had become hungry enough to scrape his teeth along her throat, only to use his tongue to caress the marks he left behind with it. Hungry, needy, yet the perfect amount to stay somewhere soft as well.
"That's rich." Her eyes closed on their own accord, feeling air being able to touch more and more skin with the more and more fabric of her dress he collected in his hands. "Don't forget that you danced with other women as well."
"To congratulate me."
"To see up close if your affection towards me is true. To decide whether to give up or not."
Not that she didn't experience some of it herself. Both Loki and Vera were attractive people. Of course others would try and take a shot, as long as there weren't rings in sight. With him being a prince, and with her being her father's daughter along with her newly given honours, both their names sounded attractive to any young and single ear.
Both were intelligent enough to know that dances like that didn't truly mean anything, unlike being asked to the dance floor by Astrid, who was actually drawn to her character, and not just her title or her pretty face. Of course she had purely been helping out a friend. But Loki had clearly trouble accepting that.
With a knowing smirk, his hands had gathered enough fabric to now grip on to the delicate flesh on her hips. Still as soft as a whisper, he let out a purr as he held her still, firm against the pillar, and breathing in her ear. "Tell me that you love me. Do it convincing enough, and I might just forgive you."
