Chapter 4- Friends

Steve Rogers P.O.V

I got up at 6:30 like normal. I got dressed in my jogging clothes and stepped out into the hallway. I looked toward Percy's room and opened it.

I walked to him and saw that he slept quite peacefully. Until I noticed his tear streaked cheeks and his pillow was a little wet. I was going to have a talk with the team later about that. What they said was just wrong and he was only 13 for goodness sake.

I wanted to make sure he did in fact go to bed but by the looks of it he fell asleep crying. That sent a tumor into my heart. It wasn't right to judge him because his father is Loki. I get clint's reasons but really did they have to say stuff like that to him.

I walked out of his room and went downstairs and started jogging.

Time Skip

I got done with my jog and took a shower. By the time I was done it was around 8:45 A.M. I went to the Avengers Floor where it was a big living room with a kitchen and other things.

The elevator opened and I saw that most of the team was there looking slightly tired.

I made myself a turkey and cheese sandwich and some orange juice. Everyone ate in silence until Clint asked, "Was it a good idea to let the kid sleep on your floor?"

"Why isn't it a bad idea?" I asked him

The team looked uncomfortable, "It's just that he's Loki's son what's his plan."

I narrowed my eyes and spoke, "Just because he is Loki's kid means he's bad. He already got Loki himself to stand down from taking over the world. The kid has to stay here and unless any of you want him on your floor he will stay on my floor."

"I'm with Katniss, it's not a good idea having him near out team leader he's dangerous." Tony said

I slammed my hand on the counter making everyone jump except for Bruce, "He cried himself to sleep last night because of all of you. He may be Loki's son but he is also a 13 year old boy in an unknown environment against his will. I don't care what you think right now but I'm saying that he may be similar to his father but I think he is not like Loki." With that I took off toward the elevator.

Surprising Bruce came with me. When the elevator closed Bruce started making a conversation. "I don't like how they are talking about him, may I give him a check-up later?"

I thought about it and decided that it didn't hurt. "Yeah but what they are saying about him, it's not fair to him."

Bruce was quiet for a bit, "Did he really cry himself to sleep?"

"From what I could tell...yes. I mean I think I would too. With all the words said about his father and him even. And when we were...stalking we can figure out that his entire life was probably bad. I want to make from this day forward better for him.

He sounds like he was never excepted most likely not on Asgard, not in school, even outside of school, whatever this camp is. It sounds like he has a tough life. This kid is smart but no one has ever loved him. his mother and aunt died his father is on another planet for a crime. His step-father doesn't love him. I can't imagine what's going on inside his head."

As I finished my speech the elevator door opened. Bruce followed me out onto my floor. When we got to Percy's door I knocked and heard a short 'come in'.

I opened the door to see Percy on his bed in a ball just looking at the wall in front of him. "Percy want something to eat?" He shook his head and continued watching the wall.

"Who's with you?" Percy asked

"I'm Bruce Banner the hulk on this team can we just sit and talk with you?"
