Gerard was an alien. He knew it. He came from another planet, he was sure of it, but he somehow ended up on Earth. No, he wasn't green. And no, he didn't have large bug eyes, or multiple limbs, or anything of the sort. He looked like a regular teenage boy. Well, sort of.

He would step in front of a tree, and immediately his skin would to turn the color and texture of a tree. He watched his arm as he did it. It looked as if tiny panels were flipping over to match the tree. His world was in black and white, except for his skin. His skin was, well, whatever he stood in front of. The vibrant green of the leaves, the soft blue of the sky, whatever he wanted, really.

He didn't remember much. But he knew his name was Gerard Way. He was eighteen. He had black hair, hazel eyes, and was a little tall. Who his family was, he had no idea. He couldn't recall any friends, any schoolmates, nothing. Just himself. And he found himself standing at the top of a hill, in a forest, overlooking what seemed to be a highschool.

It seems to be where I would go to school, thought Gerard. I might as well go. Even if I am a bit odd, that's no excuse not to learn.

He looked down at his legs and realized he was wearing clothes, thankfully. Simple clothes, but clothes all the same. He'd have to get more. He'd have to look good.

He ran down toward the school and watched the children file in. He followed a short ginger girl into the school and into her first class. It was a math class, or at least he thought. He tapped her on the shoulder and she turned around immediately.

The girl stared blankly in confusion at the sight before her, there was nothing there.

"H-Hello?" Gerard tried to ask.

The girl clutched her books firmly to her chest and gave a small shrug, returning to her class. It must have been the wind, she thought.

Gerard couldn't speak. He knew that, too. He couldn't speak, she couldn't see him or hear him, and in the best terms he could find, he was completely and totally screwed. He sighed to himself and sat down in a desk. A short blonde boy sat in him, and at that moment, he was suddenly reminded that no one could see him- he could sit anywhere. So he got up. And he sat at the teachers desk.

Maybe this wasn't so bad after all.

After a few periods, it was lunchtime. It wasn't like Gerard had to eat, but he grabbed a tray anyway. He grasped the tray and it too changed color. He could see the food himself, but it seemed no one else could. He sat down in a corner, picked up an apple and started to munch. As he was looking around the room, he thought he saw color for a moment. He slowly turned his head around the room until, finally, his whole scene was colored. He gasped as he saw shades of red he'd never seen before, and textures that were intriguing and new. He focused on the boy that had caused this and aalked toward him, never breaking his sight from him. He stood behind the boy and tapped him on the shoulder. The boy turned around instantly and Gerard put a finger to his lips. He didn't know what it meant, but something told him to do so. He boy parted with his friends as Gerard lead him to a nearby door and pulled him in.

"You! You can see me?!" He yelled out. Gerard clasped a hand over his mouth, "I can speak to you. I can hear myself and..and I sound weird. I didn't sound like this before." Gerard widened his eyes, how did he know that? He couldn't remember anything before.

The boy rolled his eyes. His hazel eyes.

Just like me, Gerard thought.

"Of course I can see you, why couldn't I?"

Gerard looked at his hands, "Well, no one else could. Its like I'm invisible."

"Yeah," the boy laughed, "I feel like that too." He flipped his black hair out of his eyes and shoved his hands in his pockets.

"No, no! I mean, they literally can't see me. Ask anyone."

The boy raised an eyebrow. "Yeah. Well, what's your name? Are you new here? I haven't seen you around. I'm Frank."

Gerard ran a hand through his hair, this boy- Frank -just didn't understand. "I'm Gerard, okay? But right now-"

"Gerard?" The boy interrupted, "That's a nice name."

"Thanks, but, please shush and listen to me. I don't know where I've come from. I don't know how you can see me or how I can speak when I see you or why I finally see color when I see you but I need to hang around with you. Forever."

Frank laughed again. "Forever? That's quite a bold statement, Gerard. I might consider it."

Gerard's eyes grew again. No no, he had to say yes. It was, what he thought, his only means of survival.

"No! You don't understand, please listen I need to be around you or else I'm totally restricted, I-"

Frank cut him off with another laugh, "I was kidding , I was kidding. Of course you can hang with us. I'll show you the crew."

Gerard slumped against a wall, "Thank you. Now, uh, by any chance, could I stay with you forever too? In your house? Your parents or siblings or whatever won't be able to see me. Its only you, I think."

Frank looked up at him, "So you'll be kind of a secret? The guys can't meet you?"

"I'm afraid not." He replied.

Frank looked down again, "Its a shame they can't see you. You look like someone they'd like, y'know?"

Gerard pulled his lips into a smile. He was still confused, but it was okay now. He had a friend. Or that's what he thought it was called.
