Upon arrival of Franks house, the alien cautiously opened the door for the human, closing it gently behind him.
"My mother isn't be home yet, I didn't see her car out front, so she must be at the store or something. Feel free to roam around I suppose, welcome home. Er- temprorary home?"
Gerard smiled, "Thank you. I remember you mentioning you had some food, and if its okay with you, I'd like to try some..?"
Frank nodded quickly and threw his backpack across the room, it slamming against the wall and falling into a slump. Gerard stared at it, wondering if it was okay. The poor thing was innocent, anyway.
"Now first," Frank's muffled voice called from behind masses of cereal boxes, "You've got go try these." He pulled out a box of pop tarts, ripped the silver wrapping off them and shoved them in the toaster, all while climbing off the counter and slamming the cabinet door shut.
"Okay," Gerard said, "Are you uh, are you always this....Hasty..?"
Frank scoffed as the pastries popped out of the toaster, "No. Now try this."
Gerard took it in his hand and turned it around a few times, inspecting it. It looked like strawberry. He bit it. It tasted like strawberry. Gerard didn't even know what strawberry was, it just popped in his head like the pastries in the toaster.
"Its good!" Gerard said, quite loudly, taking a bite. "It's great, actually!" He said again, munching through the two tarts in record time.
Frank laughed, "I'm glad you liked it. But now I'm gonna have to ignore you for just a second, and steer clear of my mother's way. You should go upstairs while I help her unpack groceries. And maybe she bought mode pop tarts I could share with you. And-"
The sound of his voice was interrupted by the sound of the door opening, and Frank sped over to the cabinet, opening and closing it inconspicuously.
"Hi Mom! Glad you're home. Did you bring poptarts?" Frank questioned, Gerard taking a step back to make way for Frank's mom to get through. But of course Gerard fell backward over onto the couch, banging his leg on the coffee table.
"Frank, dear? Are you alright? I heard a noise, did you hit yourself on something?" His mother yelled from the kitchen.
Frank glanced at Gerard by the couch, "Uh, yeah Ma! Just uh, hit my leg on the table here. Kind of clumsy, y'know."
Franks mother sighed, "Alright, just be careful next time."
"Okay," he said, "I'm gonna go up to my room now..."
He picked Gerard up off the floor and pulled him upstairs, making a jump for his bed.
"The parental unit seems nice," Gerard spoke aloud, "What I don't understand though is, well, she's quite tall and you're...uh...not."
Frank scowled and threw an Xbox controller at his form, "Doesn't matter. Just take this and play with me."
Gerard wrapped his hands around the controller. He didn't know how to use it, but somehow his hands did. They automatically went toward their correct places, maneuvering and pushing each button and joystick perfectly. It was strange, Gerard knew that. He supposed he would get used to it though. Being an alien isn't an everyday thing. Well, for him it was. It was inevitable. He accepted that.
"I'm gonna play this one, okay?" Frank said, tossing a DVD case with the words 'Megaman' written across it.
Gerard nodded and started to play the game.
"Dude!" Frank screeched quietly, "This is your first time playing and you've beaten my high score already?! This is so unfair!"
Gerard giggled. "Oops."
Moments later, when Frank realized his high score was totally wrecked, (as well as his sleep schedule) he decided to sleep. Frank grabbed his pajamas and changed into them while Gerard turned his back. He didn't understand this concept.
"Alright, you can look," Frank announced. He wore a Star Wars shirt and blue bottoms. It was sort of cold after all, it was springtime and the nights would be chilly.
Gerard glanced down at himself, "So, what do I look like?"
Frank looked him up and down, "Well starting from the top I'd say you have shortish black hair and hazel eyes-"
"No no, I know that." Gerard replied, "I mean what clothes am I wearing?"
"Oh," Frank said. "Well you have plain black jeans on and a plain red shirt. Your shoes are white. They have some kind of writing on them, but I can't read it."
Gerard kicked off a shoe and picked it up. He stared at it, hoping the words would soon become legible.
"I can't read it either," he admitted.
Frank shrugged, "We'll know in time I guess. Now where are you gonna sleep? I mean, you're not sleeping on a pile of my clothes. I guess you could sleep in my bed. There's not much room but it'll work. Even if you wake up smothering me, you weigh like nothing so what's the difference?"
Gerard nodded. He was trying way to hard to convince him, he was going to sleep in the shower. "Alright."
Gerard kicked off his other shoe and climbed into bed.
"Goodnight Frank."
"Goodnight, Gerard."
