That night as Liam lay in bed asleep, he had a dream. And in this dream he was standing on a cliff top, green grass below his feet, clear skies above his head and a cool breeze on his body.
far ahead in the distance he saw her. standing at the edge of the cliff, clothed in white, her hair let loose swaying to the rhythm of the wind. her figure was unclear to his eyes.
he tried to move, he tried to lift his feet, but he couldn't. He tried to run, but to no avail. tears filled his eyes as he tried to move to her but couldn't. He shouted her name but she did not turn.
“Melody! Melody! (tears began oozing from his eyes, down his face) Melody!” he called. his heart was racing faster and beating so hard it could be heard from a mile away. she kept on looking forward, ahead, not back, at him.
“Melody! please, turn around! (sobs heavily) please…”
Liam dropped to the ground and his cries became louder. He saw her walking, but not to him, closer to the edge of the cliff.
“Melody stop!” he yelled from a distance. He tried to move, he reached his hand out to her, but the distance was the only thing keeping them apart. He couldn't touch her. nothing was working. no matter how hard he struggled, no matter how loud he shouted her name, it changed nothing.
“dont jump Melody! don't go, you'll fall!”
“I already did…” a light whisper emanated from the distance.
Liam looked up, his eyes red as fire and pouring out tears like the clouds in a, his body trembling like an earthquake. his gaze was deeply fixed on the empty distance. she was gone. out of sight. out of reach.
