Ten minutes later, as I am outside watching the building burn, many kids begin jumping from windows of the upper floors, preferring to die from falling rather than being burned alive. The bodies on the ground keep adding up, and all I can do is watch every kid end their lives right here and right now.

The firefighters arrive at the devastating scene, the sirens wailing dramatically. They raise their ladders up to the seventh floor and spray their fire hoses around the building. However, they can't stop the kids from jumping to their deaths, and the only life net they have is broken by three kids jumping off at the same time.

I feel horrified. I never felt this way in my entire life, and I don't think I can go back in there to help the other kids. After I saw Sarah buried under the pile of debris, I just can't.

Several minutes later, the fire is put out, and everything is all over. People who witnessed the horrible scene are devastated by the large number of bodies laying on the ground. The building is a complete mess. I hear my parents shouting my name, and I turn to their direction and they wrap their arms around me tightly.

"Oh, sweetie! Thank goodness you're okay!" My mother cries.

"We heard about what happened and came here as quickly as we could. We were so worried about you! We thought we lost you!" My father adds.

I can feel tears coming out of my eyes as I think of Sarah, who died helping the other girls escape. I whimper quietly and hug them back, snuffling a lot.

"It's okay, dear. You're safe now," He assures me, and we all share a sad moment together in front of the burned building. This is a tragedy I'll never forget, even if I'm very old.

It is currently nighttime, and I see the stars shining bright in the sky as I run with my parents through a small town. They figured out a plan to get out of this miserable life.

"Mom, Dad, where are we going?" I ask for like the millionth time.

"Quiet, dear," My father answers in a whisper. "We'll be there in a minute."

We've been running for several hours, and I still have no idea where they're taking me. My legs are hurting and my mind is going crazy. We are exposed here, but good thing no one is out because of a curfew that's taking place. There are some people out doing certain jobs though.

We slow down when my father tells us we are here, and I look around to find three big ships floating on the calm water. There are two people guarding them on the docks. We wait for them to leave before moving closer to the docks. I am confused about why we are here until my father starts talking.

"Audrey, dear, you've been living a hard, miserable life in America, and I know you don't deserve to live a life like that. You will be going somewhere to live a better life, where there will be nothing that can ruin your future."

I blink twice at him before asking, "Are you guys coming?"

My mother shakes her head and says, "We have to do something about the way the working class system works. We can't just leave it as it is or else more workers will suffer. I don't know how long it will take for the government to enforce new safety regulations for all businesses. But what matters is that you, sweetie, are not going to work in that factory anymore."

I look at them with despondent eyes and begin to tear up. "But I'll never see you guys again."

"Oh, sweetie. We'll visit you when we have the chance," She reassures me.

I snuffle and give a low whimper. She turns me around and points to the ship in the middle. "See that ship, sweetie? The white flag with the big dark dot in the middle, it's going to a country called Japan. I think you'll enjoy a nice life there," She tells me.
