"Visiting hours are now over, please make your way through the exits," the lady on the intercom spoke. The lights had shut off from the small hallways so patients could sleep but in the lobby, the place was still brightly lit. Only security, janitors, and graveyard shift nurses were wandering around.
Amelia was practically invisible in the dark where no one lurked. As a vampire, she glided around the floor, stealthy, since she was a hunter. Even in the small-heeled boots, she didn't make a noise. She fixed the leather jacket the Katerina and Tatia look-alike, Elena, had given her and her jeans and purple shirt. She claimed it was a kind gesture after saving Damon who was constantly side-eying her subsequent to telling him her secrets and the new danger heading towards the girl.
The only reason she was there was because she was trying to restock the Salvatore blood supply. She needed them to drink human blood so she could drink their blood in return. She was looking for the blood bag room when she heard the heart monitor beep very slowly before it went flatline.
The goodness in her latched in her heart and she turned to the room and looked at the file: Caroline Forbes. It was the girl Elena had mentioned who had gotten into a car accident. She had just seen her and now Amelia was watching her die. She looked at the file once more to see that she internal bleeding was the cause of her death. The only reason Amelia was going to do what she was about to do was because she wanted Elena on her side.
Amelia stroked the girl's blonde hair back when she cushioned herself on her bed. Her teeth grew and as she was pulling up her sleeves, the door opened and the nurse walked in.
"Excuse me, visit hours are over," she stated. "And I need to attend to my patient."
"Who's dead," Amelia replied, facing her with her vampire face: her teeth barring and her eyes pulsating and red. "Please, don't say anything about this sleeping girl."
"Goodnight Ms. Forbes," the nurse said and she left, closing the door behind her.
Amelia focused her attention on Caroline and bit her wrist and placed it on her mouth. The had died and vampire blood was the thing that brought her back to life. She kept her blood on her until the heart monitor started beeping again and she stood, watching her bite heel.
Leaving the room, she went to the front desk to compel the nurse again for their blood supply. She remembered Damon preferred O-negative and she collected a bin of those. As she was heading to her car, she felt the presence of a supernatural being. She looked around and even took a few lapse around the building in hope to find them but she didn't. She got into her car and went back to the Salvatore house with their food.
"You better tell me everything about Elena being in danger," Damon said as Stefan walked in. She assumed he had told his brother everything, including what happened in the 20's by the way he gazed at her.
"So the man you met-"
"Klaus," Stefan remembered and she nodded.
"Is a vampire and werewolf," she began. "His werewolf side has been dormant because a witch cursed him using the blood of a doppelgänger. He wants to lift that curse and he needs Elena to do so."
"And why do you want to get revenge? What did he do to you?" Damon inquired.
"He didn't do anything to me," she sighed. "It's because of the sire bond."
"Who's your sire, a vampire, werewolf, and witch?"
"No. Klaus's father, Mikael. He's a vampire who hunts vampires too."
"Is that everything?" Stefan asked.
"Did I mention they were the first ever vampires? The Originals."
"Yes!" Damon exclaimed.
Amelia rolled her eyes before continuing, "I found the moonstone in your bowl of soaps and that is needed in the ritual. Since Elena is here, Klaus will come and I will kill him."
"Elena is not bait," Stefan stated.
"We also need a vampire," she said, pointing at either Stefan or Damon. "A witch, and a werewolf. Thankfully, that is easy." She stood, heading for the door but Damon stood in front of her. She wondered if he was going to fight her but neither did anything when Stefan picked up his phone.
"Someone stabbed John!" Elena sobbed over the phone.
Stefan rushed to his car and Damon made sure that Amelia was coming so that he could keep an eye on her. Once they reached the Gilbert household, the brothers easily went in but Amelia had to stay outside.
She didn't mind the breeze and was grateful for it because she felt the same supernatural presence as the one at the hospital. With the scent, she knew for a fact it was a vampire, especially one that drank vervain.
"Who do you think it was?" she heard Stefan ask.
"When they were reeling him into the truck, he was saying Elena," Elena's aunt, Jenna, told him.
"Katerina," Amelia murmured and Damon came out of the house. "It was her and she was at the hospital."
"Why is Katherine at the hospital?" Damon questioned.
"Caroline's there," she responded. "And I just gave her vampire blood."
Stefan and Elena stayed at her house as Damon and Amelia arrived at the hospital. It was the early morning as they rushed in and he compelled the same nurse from before to let them through. They walked into Caroline's room to see her breathing perfectly fine but Amelia had to make sure.
"Why did you give her blood?" Damon asked.
"She was dead." She lifted the girl's hand and dropped it which landed quickly on the bed. She snapped a few fingers in front of the girl's face and her eyes opened. They looked normal at first but she winced, covering her eyes from the bright sun. "Do you remember anything?"
"No," her soft voice spoke. "D-Damon, who is this?" Damon didn't answer.
"Go get a bag," Amelia ordered. He scoffed before she glared at him and he reluctantly walked out.
"What's happening?" Caroline asked as she closed the blinds.
"You might be a vampire."
"Ha! A vampire?" she laughed. "You're a joke." Amelia pivoted and barred her vicious face at her, causing her to scream and pull the sheets to her chin.
"A vampire."
Soon, Damon returned with a blood bag and Amelia took it to hold in front of Caroline. She didn't react until she opened the latch that made the scent of blood fill the room and she saw her eyes flicker black and her veins pump. She yelped as her K-9's grew for the first time but she wanted her food but Amelia drew it back.
"Give her the damn blood," Damon urged.
"Only if you want it," Amelia said, looking at her. "If you drink this, you will fully be a vampire but if you don't, you will die. When you're a vampire, you will be the third person in my sire's line. You'll be forced to drink vampire blood, hunt them, and have the urge to kill the one person you love. I never got the choice and I'd hate to have you have the same fate as me... that's why I don't turn people. So, are you sure Caroline?"
"I just don't want to die," she whispered and took the blood, drinking it. Her hunger slowed but Amelia knew it wasn't enough. She eyed Damon who pulled his sleeve and Caroline drank from him and it satiated her crave.
"I'll find you a daylight ring," Amelia said. "Wait until the sun dies or you'll burn."
She and Damon left and he kept looking at her and said, "You were in love with Klaus but you can't." Amelia nodded. "This Mikael guy is a bitch."
