"Get out," Amelia said lowly.

"If you didn't want me, you wouldn't have slept with me," Katherine sang as she jumped into her black jeans. She pulled her hair out of her jacket and maliciously grinned. "I know what's going on with you: you're having a mid-life crisis."

"How so?"

"Ever since Klaus deceived you for Ric, put a kindness spell on you, and became a hybrid, you've felt useless," she summarized. "You're prime design is to kill him, hate him, whatever, but you haven't."

"I can't."

"I know. But at least you saved Care Bear and the beast," she stated. "Bye, Melee."

Amelia watched the door close and got out of bed with a heavy sigh, knowing she was right. Caroline had visited the other day, attempting to bring her off her feet but from the wicked vampire and her malicious tone, she knew she had to change.

She took a cold shower before putting on a dark, purple tight dress and a pair of heels. Her wavy, black hair ran down her back over the coat she wore. She then left the building and got into her car. With a box of chocolates in her hand, she clicked the doorbell to the Gilbert house and the boy who cried vampire, opened the door.

"Elena, it's for you!" he called out.

"Actually, all of you," she corrected. The living doppelgänger came down the steps and when she saw her, her face dropped. Even Alaric, their new guardian, came out. "I wanted to say that I'm sorry for your loss."

"It was your fault," Jeremy interrupted and she glared at him.

"Or Caroline would've died," she responded carefully. She gestured for them to take the chocolate since she couldn't reach inside and hand it to them but neither of them took so she placed it on the ground. "I'll be seeing you around."

She pivoted on a heel and headed towards her car. As she was opening it, a hand slammed on the door. She looked up to see the blue-eyed Damon staring into her green eyes; she could see her own reflection.

"Where's Stefan?"

"I do not know. Ask his girlfriend."

"They're a struggling couple," he retorted. "You know a lot about everything so speak."

"I actually don't know. I've been inside for the last week and the sun burns with my daylight ring on."

"Mmm," he hummed. He pulled his hand away from the car and she got in.

"If you need me, I'll be at the Forbes' then the Lockwood's." She lightly grinned before driving away.

It was late in the afternoon when she climbed the steps of the white mansion the mayor owned. She knocked on the door and listened carefully for footsteps but no one answered.

She then descended the steps and let her phone ring for Caroline. She assumed that she would be with Tyler but she wasn't sure. Her last guess was that both had joined their parent to a council meeting she hadn't attended for a while.

She entered the large city building to find a group of people, founding families, chattering about the clean town. She wasn't surprised that Alaric wasn't there since he had children to take care of. Unfortunately, neither Tyler nor Caroline were there but her father, a man named Bill Forbes was there. Amelia eavesdropped on the conversation Liz and Charol were having and the sheriff was wondering why her ex-husband was present.

The women's eyes panned on the man who excused himself from the group and Amelia decided to follow. He went downstairs and into a separate, hidden room and opened the door. She couldn't see past the corner but she heard a muffled voice and she knew it was Caroline.
