"We are leaving now, Jin Ling."

"Not today, Uncle." Jin Ling protested. "We need to go back to that forest. We are leaving later."

Seeing the scowl on Jiang Cheng's face, Lan Jingyi immediately spoke. "Young mis–master Jin, it's fine if you can't join. You were hurt yesterday so..."

Jin Ling rolled his eyes and waved his hand. "I am fine. You should go and call Sizhui. Where is he anyway?"

Jingyi looked hesitantly at YunmengJiang sect leader but upon seeing his tough face, he gulped turning to Jin Ling. "He handled some punishment today so he must be in the library."

With a low voice, Jin Ling whispered, "He really became my adopted cousin in the future." For some unknown reason, he felt the heaviness in his heart. His future self spoke with familiarity with the future self of Sizhui. Did they become closer? How was their relationship after the adoption? If they become officially cousins, his uncle's relationship with Wei Wuxian must have become better. He should be happy but why does he feel lonely?

"Sizhui is not aware yet of HanguangJun's plan. We must keep it secret for now. It would be better for him to hear it directly from HanguangJun."

"Hmph!" Jiang Cheng scoffed. "After your night hunt, we must go back to each of our sects."

"I want to help find my future son too."

"Shut up!" Jiang Cheng stroked his zidian. "They don't even know where to start looking for them. How can we help if they don't even know where they are? Must you really look for trouble?"

"I'm not looking for trouble. That's your future grandnephew that is missing!" Jin Ling exclaimed. He hates it when his uncle shows no care. He is aware that it was just his uncle's front but it would be great to just show a bit to avoid misunderstanding. He sighed. What a pain!

Seeing the tension between the uncle and nephew, Jingyi decided to excuse himself. "Sect Leader Jin, if you decided to join us, we must prepare for our departure soon. I'll go and check Sizhui if he is done with the punishment."

Jin Ling nodded at him.

Not too far from Yiling, there was a forest clouded with fog. At the end of the forest was a village called Mohu. Previously, a resident of the said village came to collect chopped woods together with his son. However, the next day came but no one sees them even their shadows. This was raised to their village elder and sent some of their men to find them. Unfortunately, they also never heard anything from them and went missing. Suddenly, they noticed that the fog in the forest becomes thicker than it was before.

The forest was the only way of going to another village. With the fear that they may be attacked by something hidden in the thick fog, no one dared to leave the Mohu Village to ask for a cultivator's help. One day, there are three residents of the village who just finished trading with other villagers with their goods and are ready to go home. They noticed the strange thickness of fog in the forest and thought that it was just because of the change of weather. They decided to proceed the following day but the fog never changed until one of them decided to proceed without listening to his companion.

The next thing that happened brought fears to the two. They heard a growl and screaming including the voice of their stubborn companion saying "Corpse! Corpse! Help!"

"Senior Wei, it was not the fog but the heavy resentment in the forest that causes it to become foggier," Sizhui said. The other day, they tried entering the forest but they met some fierce corpses and even Wen Ning who was with them told them to back off. Jin Ling, due to his recklessness, decided to proceed despite the warning and injured himself.
