Back in the real timeline...

"Haven't you heard anything from your son? Did he send any butterfly message yet?" Jiang Cheng is drinking tea with Wei Wuxian and Jin Zixuan inside the Yashi. Lan Wangji had to manage the sect's affair due to the absence of his son and check Lan Qiren who is more anxious because of the disappearance of the Lan Sect's heir.

Wei Wuxian shook his head. "No. But I know they are still finding a way to reach us. I trust those four to find the kids."

Jiang Cheng scowled. "They better be. How could A-Li and Xiao Yu defend themselves if she was alone."

Wei Wuxian, "I told you A-Li needed to train along with the disciples. You keep on treating her like a princess."

"She is a girl." Jiang Cheng pours another cup of tea.

Jin Zixuan raised his hand to stop the two from arguing. "Alright, stop arguing. All of the kids will be fine. Look, the talisman that Jingyi left for us hadn't made any reactions."

"I hope it won't have any reactions at all or I will break their legs if something happened to my niblings and grandson." Jiang Cheng muttered.

"Grandnephew." Wei Wuxian corrected him with a playful smile on his lips. "I am the grandfather."

"Shut up!"

Jin Zixuan slammed his palm at his face. He had enough with these arguments. He always wonders how Jiang Yanli managed to stop these two. He sighed. His wife was taken away too but because of her dedication to cultivating her golden core, he is not worried. He is more worried if Jin Yu got separated from her or if he is alone right now. Though the blank talisman sitting on the table does not make any reaction, he won't settle. The talisman will only react if they are in danger but what if his grandson is hungry? Who would feed him? Is he sleeping well? Is he crying right now?

He hadn't had the chance to take care of Jin Ling. He was not there while he is growing up so he wanted to make sure, he would always be there for his grandson to make up for the lost time he was not there for his son.

"Is there any news yet?"

The three men turned their heads, only to see the anxious look of one of the elders of Lan Sect, Lan Jun. He is Jingyi's father and a doting grandfather to his grandchildren.

"None yet."

Lan Jun sighed heavily. A few days had passed since the children's disappearance and they won't feel any relief unless they heard that they are all fine. Lan Jun wiped the beads of sweat on his forehead. He hadn't had a good sleep these few days and couldn't focus on his work and had to check the situation time and time again.

"Wen Ning, you are here too?"

"Jiejie wanted to check if there's an update about the kids."

Wei Wuxian, "No reaction yet from the talisman. No need to go back and forth here, Wen Ning. I'll be sending a butterfly message if we received an update from them."

"Thank you, Young Master Wei." Wen Ning bowed respectfully but all of their attention

was caught when Jin Zixuan spoke.

"The talisman is glowing!"

Lan Jun grew more anxious. "What's going on? Who is in danger?"

Several strokes appeared in the blank talisman. After the last stroke, Wei Wuxian read the characters written. "Zian. Yanli. Qian. safe."
