Having been presumed dead, Akira woke up without any recollection of who he was. The only thing he does remember was his name, and the memory of a vivid ravenette with blood red eyes, along with her kind smile.
However, there is another thing he doe...
Tatsumi: (annoyed) "Wow, that was mean. By the time I woke up, the job was done."
Leone: "Even if you'd been awake, we'd have left you behind."
Chelsea: "Eh, what can you do. What's done is done."
Lubbock: "And I'd rather not go out and fight a bunch of bloodthirsty assassins that want to kill me."
Chelsea: "Oh? And what happened to all that bravado about 'owning these kids'?"
Lubbock: "...You heard nothing."
Najenda: (sigh) "Either way, you three won't be doing any fighting until the final battle."
It was the next day after the mission to exterminate the Dark Squad. It had taken Akame, Akira, and Leone a majority of the day to get back, especially since the most emotionally affected by the mission was Akame.
After all, they had just finished killing their former comrades, and it took an extensive amount of willpower to suppress the hesitance she would've had.
Though hearing the orders from the silver-haired general, Lubbock had sighed in relief. Sure, he could fight, but he wasn't necessarily meant for the front lines, unlike Tatsumi, Akira, Akame, and others. Chelsea was bitter about it, but she had no choice but to sigh and accept the decision, continuing to hone her sword proficiency.
Tatsumi soon dropped his shoulders, now nibbling on his meat of drumstick.
Tatsumi: "Then it'll feel like... We're the only ones taking it easy."
The purple-eyed woman stared at the brown-haired teen for a bit, her face soon softening up a grin. She then lifted her arm up, planting her hand on Tatsumi's head as she ruffled it a bit, making him look at her confused.
Najenda: "Don't worry. We'll be putting you three to work during the final battle. Especially you."
Leone: (shoves Tatsumi's face into her breast) "See? Good for you, Tatsumi?~"
Akame: "Tatsumi did a fine job at the execution site. It only makes sense that he gets to take a break now. Thanks for the meal."
The others, except Akira, looked at her surprised. During the whole dinner, she said nothing, same with Akira. In fact, the ravenette had gotten up and took her plate to the kitchen, Akira soon following suit.
The brown-haired teen was the first to break the silence that had enveloped after.
Tatsumi: "They were...awfully quiet."
Leone: "That's because Akame will be meeting her little sister tonight. And Akira understands, so he's offering her full support."
Tatsumi: (thoughts) 'So it'll be a battle between sisters... Will it...?' "You gave her permission for this... Right?"
Najenda: "Kurome's always been the target. If we can take her out of the equation, we'll reduce the chances of us losing important members during the final battle. But to be honest, I don't think Kurome's presence will decide the outcome of the fight one or another."
Lubbock: "Yeah. We're not so slacked that we'd allow the commanders to be killed."
Najenda: "Correct. So in that sense, this isn't a case of her needing to settle things between the two of them."
Tatsumi: "Then..."
