The never ending cycle of pain

PROLOGUE

'LUZ!' Lilith screams as a purple cloaked figure jumped on Luz without warning.

'ARGH LILITH HELP!!' Luz struggles, trying to get off as the girl above her pins her down.
'I'm sorry' the figure whispers.

'OH NO NO NO EDAS GONNA KILL ME!' Lilith wails, trying to push the girl off Luz and spotting some scars on her arms.

'LILITH! NOO HELP!!' Luz screams as the girl began dragging her downwards. the floor seems to melt away, and Luz sinks with the girl on top of her.

'LUZ!!' Lilith screams as Luz's body is almost completely underground. She threw away her staff and used both her bare hands to try and claw Luz out desperately. but she was not strong enough.

'LUZZ!' She screams one more time, hands still digging wildly, as the human and the stranger girl sinks down the sand completely...

that night, Lilith had dug and dug at the sand until her fingers bled, and the moon had already appeared numerous times. 'Luz-' she chokes, unable to bring herself to face the truth.

she had grown fond of her little niece with her time at the owl house, she loved her really. and now- she's gone.

just then, Eda came running towards her sister and pulled her into a suffocating embrace: 'OH THANK TITAN YOU'RE OKAY LILY! IVE BEEN SO WORRIED-'

she beams at Lilith as they separated, but her face fell as soon as she saw the other's expression.

it was then that she realised that Luz was not with Lilith.

'wh- where's Luz??' Eda asks, hoping she was just around here somewhere.

Lilith didn't speak, and kept her head low.
'WHERES LUZ?' Eda yelled, and began running around the place as if searching for a child playing hide and seek.

She goes back to Lilith, and held up their hands together. 'Lily, please, i know i caused you loads of trouble with the emperor... but if u want revenge, come take it from me! please don't ever hurt Luz because of me...'

Lilith watches in shock as the toughest and cockiest person she's ever known fell down to her knees, and cried.

'Edalyn...'
Eda looks up, a little hope in her eyes, 'Luz is okay... right??'

'I'm sorry, i couldn't- i wasn't good enough to safe her... she's gone' Lilith whispers as she places a hand on Eda's shoulder, only for it to be slapped away in an instance.

'STAY AWAY FROM ME, I KNOW U DID SOMETHING TO LUZ! SHE COULDNT HAVE JUST DISSAPEARED INTO THIN AIR!' Eda screams in denial. her Luz couldn't be gone, she simple couldn't be... her sweet, fun, loving Luz...

'EDA, I KNOW IM AT FAULT, BUT I SWEAR, I CAN EXPLAIN!' Lilith screams. but Eda was in too much pain: her Luz, HER LUZ was gone. gone forever.

Eda lets out a horrible scream of pain. feathers were starting to pop out of her skin and her consciousness was fading...

'EDA! NOO!' Lilith begs as harpy Eda lost herself in her curse yet again- and we all thought she was getting better at controlling it!

The owl beast let out a high pitch wail, and took off into the night sky.

Lilith watches in horror. there was no way she could help her now, the curse was set, locked in forever. She looks at her sister, gliding across the night sky, one last time, and made the hard choice of leaving her behind: 'farewell, Edalyn, I'm sorry for everything...'

Lilith approaches the owl house, its lights still turned on.

'HEYY~ LULU~' Hooty purred, twisting its body around as Lilith approached the door.

'I was just waiting for eda and you and luz to come home! oh titan! I've missed Luz!! it's been so long since i last saw her! I would LOVE to tell her about that one time when i-'

'sorry Hootsifer, not today' Lilith said, giving Hooty a tired smile.

'oh right! sorry Lulu~"

he allows the door to be opened, revealing a purple haired witch with messed up mascara all around her eyes, and King holding up a tissue box for her.

'Master Lilith!' Amity smiled in relieve when she spotted her old teacher.

'hello Amity, dear.' Lilith smiles, 'hello King'

'sooooo...' Amity begins, 'is Luz with you?' she peeks around behind Lilith, hoping to spot her awesome girlfriend.

'AND EDA?' King yelled worriedly, then added,' not that i care much for her...'

Lilith's shoulders slumped, feeling as if the weight of the world was on it as the two looked up at her with hopeful eyes.

'Amity, King. please sit down, i will tell you everything...'
