My heart ached a little,
knowing you no longer belonged to me.
You were the reason behind my smile,
But now, as you are, gone,
I have to learn to live on my own.
Your presence made me happy,
but I was wrong; you did all of this just for your sake.
Yes, you made me believe in love again but broke me by leaving me shattered again.
And now, when you no longer belong to me,
I realise how beautiful life is.
