You know where I'm laying right now?
My bed.
In my house.
That isn't at the Burrow.
Ahhhh!
We still aren't unpacked, Fred left me to unpack the bedroom while he manages the shop that he just opened with George.
Last week it opened and it's been going great. It's in Diagon Alley still and has an even bigger crowd because it opened around Christmas with sales.
I'm officially a gold digger again.
So, he's there, I'm laying on a bed that isn't made, but I'm just so so happy.
"Hello?! Holy shit this place is amazing!" I heard Ellie said. There's my helper.
"I'm here too!" Cami said, "and with coffee!"
"I'm up here!" I said.
"Babe! I've never been in this house before!" Ellie said.
"Follow my voice!" I said.
"Stairs!" Cami said, climbed the stairs, went into two empty rooms, then the one that I was in. "Holy god this place is amazing!"
"I know!" I exclaimed. "Nothing is unpacked and it's so echo-y." I shrugged and got off the bed. "Okay, Fred told me my only job was to set up this room- mainly because he knew I'm not even capable of that- so let's do this!"
"So where do we start?" Ellie asked.
"Well those three over there are our clothes so I can handle that. That one's bedding, that's like stuff that goes in the closet so take your pick." I said, "but first we have to put together the dresser."
"And the tv too?!" Cami asked.
"No. But all you have to do it put the tv on the hinge thingy, then plug it in the wall, it can't be that hard. And I wanna show Fred I can do something without him helping." I mumbled.
"But... you do need him to help you." She said.
"... I know. Let's just start."
Ellie grabbed the box that was leaning against the wall and dragged it over to us, sat down on the ground, and I joined her, then so did Cami.
They opened the box and I began to pull the pieces out, Ellie got the instructions and Cami got the tools.
"This looks complicated." Cami mumbled.
"No it doesn't!" I said, "you get a nail, shove it into the board and put the other board on top, then wedge the other two in there- somehow that screw goes in there- why is there a wood pellet?"
"You guys are dumb, go unpack, I can do this." Ellie shooed us away and I giggled.
"Do I look like the type of girl who knows how to put together a dresser." I said, "I can't even make toast without fucking burning it."
"True." She laughed as she crawled around and laid all the pieces. I watched as she opened the back and paper instructions, then got to work, grabbing a screw, a board, and some twisty metal thing that makes the screw go into the board.
I'd be so lost right about not.
I walked over to the box with clothes as cami worked on bedding. Using scissors, I got the box and began to sort through it. I have to unpack in stages. Right now I'm on stage 1: get messy.
I pile the clothes on the floor, sort through them so the first time on my left is all of my clothes and the right is Freddie, then I crawled over to his pile abs began to sort through items: shirts and long sleeves go together, pants and shorts go together. Boxers, socks, and sleep pants (like PJ pants) go in one pile.
