Astra || Tale Of The Night ||

Chapter- 8

The ride back home was pretty intense. I was driving the car while i was overthinking about what just happened. Mirza was describing how excited she's feeling for the night in the back seat while Eliana just smiled through the misery. It's obvious that she's pretty scared about what is going to happen.

I parked the car after Elaina and Mirza stepped out with the heavy bags. As I parked the car in the garage, I stepped out and made my way to the front door. But before doing that, I turned around and looked over a corner of the garage, as I felt a presence standing there. The mist covered that corner...which indicated that there was spirit. I decided to ignore it and went inside my home.

"Gimme the tape!" I heard Mirza yell at Eliana as she stood on a chair, trying to reach a fan. Eliana grabbed the duct tape and handed it to her. Mirza started to tape a disco ball on it. Eliana continued to look at Mirza,  in case if she falls down.

I, then walked and stood next to her. "You don't have to take part in it if you're scared." I said. Eliana furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.

"The Ouija board..." I drifted. Eliana then thought for a legit minute and smiled at me.

"I'm just worried, not scared. Besides you're are also here. I bet you know some prayers to protect us from anything bad." She explained to which I smiled and nodded.

We both continued to smile at each other until Mirza looked at us. "I'll ship you both if you don't stop with the adoration."

I looked at her and gave her a cheeky smile while Elaina went over to beat her up. As I observed the duo fighting with each other, I couldn't help but think about Elaina's belief.

"Besides you're are also here. I bet you know some prayers to protect us from anything bad."

I hope so.

It was around 9:30 pm now. We three decided to make some instant noodles and grab some drinks and snacks to watch a movie.

"Rom-com or mystery?" Elaina asked.

"Mystery."
"Rom-com."

Mirza and I looked at each other and then at Elaina to make the final draw.

Please choose mystery. Pretty please.

"Let's watch a Rom-com." She declared. Mirza clapped her hands with victory while I just nodded to acknowledge my defeat.

We three continued to get comfortable and filled mouths with fast food.

We are now 15 minutes into the movie. The scene where the female lead meets the male lead is currently been showed.

"Oww." The female lead exclaimed.
"Are you okay?" The main lead asked his future beloved.

The scene reminds me of the Xion guy.

"Well, my name is Xion. just in case, if you're curious."

Thinking of it made me smile. I shook my head and told myself to concentrate on the movie.

It was almost 12 am and we were done with the movie.

"Okay guys, let's set up a table for the game." Mirza said as she tried to sound mysterious. My heart suddenly started to palpitate like never before. I couldn't make it clear.

Was my heart beating fast with nervousness or excitement? I asked myself before getting up from my place.

"Let's just do it on the coffee table that's in front the couch." Elaina said.  I nodded and so did Mirza.

"Astra." Elaina called out. I looked at her with a serious look.

"Can you get the board?" She requested. I took a deep breathe and nodded. I slowly made my way towards the island in my kitchen and grabbed the bag.

I heart continued to beat faster as i bought it and kept it on the coffee table. I looked at Eliana then at Mirza, who were nervous and excited respectively.

Mirza walked towards the switch board to off all the lights except for a lamp that pretty much failed to light up the room. Regardless, we decided to grab four candles and place it around the table and took a few deep breathes.

"Give me your hand guys." I requested and they did so. We held each other's hand and closed our eyes. I tried to concentrate on building a spiritual barrier to prevent anything evil from attacking us and said a prayer.

"Dear lord, please protect us from anything that has ill intention towards us." I murmered.

With that,  I opened my eyes along with them and looked at each other in silence to see if we're ready.

By the looks, they seem to be ready. Mirza placed the planchette on the board. We, then placed our index and middle finger onto the planchette.

"Is there anyone who'd like to communicate with us?" Eliana asked. She sounded a bit worried, I must say.

No response. The planchette didn't move.

"We are inviting you to talk with us. Can you tell us your name?" Mirza asked. I looked around the room and felt no presence. I guess no entity took the chance of our invitation.

Again, no response.

Next was my turn and took a deep breathe with the girls looked at me.

"Do you know who I am?" I asked. Suddenly I felt a gush of wind behind my left ear. Now, I started to feel the presence of something....something that different from the spirits that's I've encountered till now.

The planchette slowly started to shake at its place.  Mirza and Elaina looked at it in horror.

"Who's shaking it? Stop playing it's not funny." Mirza stated. Eliana shook her head telling that it wasn't her. Mirza then looked at me for an answer.

I stared at her as I responded "It's not me either. But there's a presence it's here." Mirza just stared at me with confusion while Elaina took deep breathes.

"What do you mean? I feel nothing though. " Mirza stated.

"That's because Astra is a psychic. She sense and see paranormal entities." Elaina explained.

Mirza just continued to furrow her eyebrows with confusion.

"Y'all are tripping. I can't believe you'd fall for shit like that." Mirza yelled, clearly out of confusion and skeptical mind. Well, it's not my first time hearing such words.  That's why I didn't react.

Elaina wanted to explain further but I tuck her dress and shook my head.

I closed my eyes as Mirza started to explain the reasons to why ghosts aren't real. I tried to concentrate on my breathe first and continued to read the energy around me.

I intuitively felt that the entity that was in the room is powerful and it doesn't need any kind of energy from us. Considering the fact that it wouldn't be a demon( because they require energy from the material world) I interrupted Mirza's debate.

" Let's take our hands off the planchette and see."

Elaina did as I asked to while Mirza questioned "Why? You think it's gonna move by itself? "

I looked at her while responding to her question "Probably."

She wanted to question me further but didn't do so. She slowly took her hands off the planchette and stared at the board.

I took a deep breathe again and asked the board.

"Are you from the otherworld."

The planchette slowly started to shake all by itself which shocked the girls next to me.

"Oh my God! There's no way this is ha-" Mirza started.

The planchette then slowly started move.

"Yes."
