Chapter- 9

Previously....

The planchette slowly started to move.

"Yes."

NOW (NARRATOR'S POV)

"There's no freaking way that just happened" Mirza said in disbelief. Elaina looked too worried while Astra just stared at the board.

"Will you hurt us?" She asked to which she subconsciously tried to get a legit answer. Even though she didn't get any demonic aura, she isn't sure if it's good or bad. Soon, the planchette shook by itself but didn't give an answer.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Elaina asked Astra.

"I have no idea." The brown-eyed girl replied honestly.

"Let's stop this." Mirza said because she was trembling with fear. She had no idea it would take such a turn. Even though she was excited about this at first, she soon realised that things can get pretty awful.

Astra analysed the girl and looked over Elaina to make a decision. Eliana as well nodded.  Astra took a deep sigh and nodded as well.

Before that....

Astra wanted to ask one question. She didn't know if wants to ask it in front of the girls who are way too scared. Regardless, Astra wanted to ask. What does this entity know about the other world, probably about her mom as well.

"Before that, I want to ask a question." Astra requested.

"Then ask fast." Mirza said worriedly.

She, then took a deep breathe, ready to get an answer.

"What do know about the otherworld? " The brown haired girl asked.

The planchette slowly made its way to the first letter and the girls slowly spelled it.

"E.......V.......E......R.........Y.........T.......H..."

"Everything?" Eliana asked. The planchette stopped spelling the word and made its way to 'Yes'.

"Okay Astra, one question is done. Let's stop." Mirza reminded. Astra was hesitant though. She expected a description, not a one word answer.

"Wait, that answer is not enough." Astra said.

"Let ask one more question, please."

Mirza left out a deep sigh and nodded hesitantly. Astra, then proceeded to think of a question that might give her a proper descriptive answer.

"I know that I was being called to communicate with you because you want to say something. What do you wanna tell me?"

Astra closed her eyes and patiently waited for an answer intuitively. But she felt like the entity was asking her to look on the board for answer. So, she opened her eyes which was now glued on the board.

The planchette slowly started to move.

"F........I......L......E..."

"The file....I'll get it." Astra said then ran to her dad's room.

She grabbed the file and sat back on her place and looked over the board. The planchette, again, started to make its move.

"4.....3" it spelled out.

"Forty three....?" Astra skipped through the pages hurriedly, believeing that it might be the page number. But as she did that, Elaina and Mirza placed their fingers on the planchette and moved it towards goodbye.

"Goodbye. We're done talking with you." They stated.

Astra looked at them with surprise and asked "Why did you both do that?"

"Because we're done talking with it. We're having a bad headache so we decided to call it off when you went to get that...file." Elaina explained.

Astra left out a deep sigh, meanwhile the girls stared at her.

"What is that file?" Mirza asked.

Astra was hesitant to answer that question. But she decided to just give a bit of information to them. I'm worried that they might fall into trouble if they know what exactly it is about.

"It's about my mom....." Astra responded.

Both the girls looked at her with sympathy and decided to not question her further knowing that it might make her emotional.

"I'll throw this out in the garage." Elaina said as she pointed on the board and tapped Mirza to follow her so that they could give Astra some space.

Astra continued to look sulky until the duo went out of sight.

She looked over to check if they're completely gone or not. Once she confirmed their absence, she continued to flip through the pages and stopped at page 43.

She read through the content which vaguely described about a portal that'd summon a Lord of the other world, if they're ready to accept the invitation.

"Lord of the other world....?" When Astra said that she felt a familiar energy. The same energy that was in the room a few minutes back.

Was that entity a lord.....?

She continued to read through and her eye caught the spell that is usually used to summon the Lord.

I'm sure this so-called Lord knows something about the other world, possibly. ...about my mom as well.

What if it's a trap? Her skeptic inner voice asked her.

According to this file, Lords of the other world are of high status. I'm sure that there's no reason for them to harm me. Even if they do, I still have the power to close the portal and send them back because this is our world. Not theirs.

After minutes of contemplating. She decided to say the words out loud before the girls come back.

She took a deep breathe before reading the words.

"Zu'u bel vul drog bex vok miiraak wah kopraanuv suleyksejun. Genun hinmaar!"

She waited for something to happen. But to her despair, nothing. Few seconds later, the lights went out and everything turns dark.

Astra flinched a bit with expectation. So, she looked around to find the portal. But she saw nothing. But she heard a sound of the door knob twitching and turning from the garage.

She walked over the garage door and opened it, thinking that her friends were problably locked in. She slowly opened the door.

"How did you guys get locked in-" Astra questioned and saw no one. She walked into her garage and scanned around. As she took few steps away from the door, it shut close by itself.

"What the heck?" She whispered and slowly walked towards the door to check if she's locked in. As she reached her hand towards the knob, it disappeared along with door.

She took a step back as she yelled at the illusion "What is fudge is happening?" 

She, then saw that the whole room mixed up and disappeared like a mist. And now, she's standing still with extreme shock in a dense forest.

"I- ... this is just a dream."She said to herself with disbelief and shook her head.

Not long after that, she heard a deep voice whispering into her left ear.

"It's not a dream, Astra."

Just for reference...

The spell is in dragon language. But in the file- it's wirrten in English but went said out loud, it'd sound like the original spell.

Translation:

I am summoning the dark lord by opening up the portal to the physical realm. Show yourself!

Zu'u bel vul drog bex vok miiraak wah kopraanuv suleyksejun. Genun hinmaar!

Might not be accurate translation but please bare with it. Hehe.
