Astra || Tale Of The Night ||

CHAPTER-6

"Oh! yes we need  to get some jellies, especially strawberry flavoured ones." Eliana said with passion. Mirza nodded while I just shook my head slowly because I'm not a big fan of strawberry gummies that she's drooling over. Regardless, we placed it on our cart that's filled with snacks and drinks for tonight. 

We went to get the stuff billed at the counter and waited on the line. "Next stop is the play section. One of us will place all the stuff into the car and come back. so, who's ready to do this noble work?" Eliana asked.

I pretended like I wasn't listening by staring at other food items at the store. WOAH THEY HAVE LIMITED EDITION OF THOSE CHOCO CHIPS! I need to get that. I went over the section and grabbed one......and another one. But when I made my way back to the counter, I saw Eliana's face was painted with an evil smirk. Yikes, she's gonna try again blackmail me.

"Astra, since you're getting something extra of your choice, don't you think you should have the decency of doing us a tiny hel-"

"No, you know that's not going to work on me." I said blandly.

Eliana pouted and said " That's so mean and selfish of you Astra." 

I sighed at her attempt to guilt trap me. I, then nodded and grabbed those gaint covers at the counter and made my way to the exit. As the the front glass door automatically opened itself after detecting my presence, i went over to the parking lot and walked over my car. A gush of strong wind blew which made my shoulder-lengthened hair to fall all over my face.

"Ahh!" I murmered to myself. I can't use my hands to tuck my hair since they are carrying heavy bags filled with snacks. As I thought of a way to get of the hair on my face, I decided to place the heavy bags on the ground.

 But before I could do so, I felt a presence of a hand on my hair that's on my face, which obviously made me flinch away as a reflex. But the bags decided to betray me, and i almost was about to fall onto the ground right on my butt. Thankfully, as i said, it was almost. A pair of hands, of that familiar presence from before caught me at right time. 

Everything happened in slow motion that I knew my thoughts exactly at each and every second.  I felt my hair on my face being tucked back to my ear slowly and gently. When I looked over my saviour, who's is technically also the culprit of this incident, I got welcomed by a pair of turquoise eyes that's staring right into my pair of chocolate brown eyes. 

These countable seconds felt like an eternity. His eyes is deep. If you think that it would be an exaggeration if I said that his eyes showed me the depth of the ocean, then I can tell that you have to witness it to debunk it. This is beyond reality for sure. 

Suprisingly, he didn't flinch from this pose either and continued with the staring contest, as if he could see the same depth in my pair of eyes. I unconsciously cleared my throat, that made us come out of the spell and back to a decent position.

"Uh.. thanks. I guess." I had to thank him for saving my butt but as I said, he is the reason I was about to fall. He smiled at me and nodded. 

"No problem." he said. Damn his voice is deep too huh. I thought. 

"Well then." I said, as I avoided looking into his eyes and walked over my car with my heavy bags. But I felt his presence following me from behind. I ignored it at first but when he followed me till my car, I turned back and asked.

"Is something wrong?" I can see him, clearly trying hard not to smile after hearing it.

"Not at all." he responded.

"Then why are you following me?" I asked again. this time, he did not hide his smile or should I say, his smirk. I furrowed my eyebrows as he made a step further towards me. He placed his hand inside is pocket and drew something out. I panicked at the moment and placed my hands of snack bags in front of me, trying to recall all the self-defense techniques that I learned. 

Before I could use any of my self-defense skills, I heard a queek like sound. and it was the car next to mine.

"I guess we are parking neighbours." he smiled as he felt victorious after successfully fooling me. I left a deep sigh and glared at him. 

"Sorry for scaring you." he said with sheepish smile. I ignored him and made my way to the trunk of my car. 

"Also..." the guy started. I looked over him. 

He stared right into my eyes and asked.

"Is it too much to ask for your name?" he questioned and I nodded. 

With disappointment clearly visible on his face he said "Well, my name is Xion. just in case, if you're curious."

He winked at me as made opened his car door, then made his way inside it and drove off. I smiled as I repeated his name.

 "Xion.''
