TW: SH and an Attempt
I'm getting really worried about Keely, for the past two weeks she's seemed to have gone into this depressive state. She's stopped talking to me, she barely eats, and I haven't seen her out of bed in the past two days. I need to find out what's wrong with her, like now. I've read her journal, I know what was on her mind not too long ago, and I have no doubt she'd go back to that mindset. I need to figure out what's going on before she does anything rash.
I'm in the kitchen, drinking my coffee as I try to think of how to figure out what's wrong with Keely, when I hear a thump come from upstairs.
I set down my coffee, and quickly walk upstairs. Just to check on Keely, maybe she just dropped a book or something. Probably just something stupid like that. Not what my mind immediately thought of, people are supposed to jump to the worst possible thing as soon as possible. Keely's fine.
I don't bother knocking on the bedroom door, seeing as how Keely wouldn't be able to hear it, and I open the door.
"Fuck!" I yell as I run over to Keely laying on the floor, looking passed out. It's not until I'm kneeling over her, that I notice the blood pooling around her, pouring out of the cuts on her wrists. "Fucking hell!"
I reach over Keely, and grab a shirt and press it to one of her bleeding wrists. With my other hand I frantically call 911, she's going to die if she doesn't get help right now, I know it. She's loosing a lot of blood, too much.
Putting my phone of speaker, I use my now free hand to hold another shirt to Keely's other wrist.
"Keely! Keely wake up!" I yell, knowing it's useless because she can't hear me.
Right at that moment, a 911 dispatcher answers my call. I quickly explain what's going on, barely keeping myself together.
Why would Keely do this?! Why! I should've known something was going to happen! I should've come to her sooner! I could've stopped her! What if she's dead now?! It'd be all my fault!
"Keely, Keely please wake up baby, please. I gotta know you aren't dead." I whisper helplessly. She's not dead I remind myself, she's still breathing, she's still breathing. She's barely breathing, but at least she's breathing. "KEELY! WAKE UP!!" I scream at her, hoping that if I'm loud enough she might hear.
I hear the ambulance coming, and in that moment I pray that they aren't too late. I pray that Keely will be fine. She has to be.
Paramedics rush into the bedroom, and take over Keely, as I'm pushed out of the way.
Keely's put on a bed, and rolled out of the bedroom, and I quickly follow the paramedics. Another paramedic comes to me, explaining what's going on, but I'm honestly not even paying attention. I'm just watching Keely be pushed into the ambulance. I'm brought onto the ambulance as well, as I watch in a distant state of mind as they do all sorts of things to Keely.
Only a few minutes we're at the hospital, and Keely's immediately taken back behind a set of doors, and a nurse stops me before I can follow.
"She's going into surgery to stitch the cuts closed, then she's going to need a blood transfusion, since she's lost so much. We'll let you know when she's out of surgery, but until then you're welcome to wait in the waiting room." With that the nurse walks off, and I just stand there for a few minutes.
Tyler, I need to call him. Raven too! This is their daughter, they need to get down here!
I reach for my phone, and I feel it's not in my pocket, that's when I realized in my hurry I must have left it at home. I walk over to the front desk, and ask to use one of their phones, thankfully the nice receptionist lady let me use a phone.
After about four rings, Tyler picks up the phone. "Hello?"
"Tyler! It's me Riley. I-I'm at the hospital. Keely- Keely's... she lost so much blood." I whisper, everything slowly starting to register in my mind. "She- she-" I can't even bring myself to say it!
"Riley! What happened?" Tyler asks, as I hear a bunch of rustling on his side of the phone.
"She might die, she might die. It's all my fault! I should've known!"
"Riley, Raven and I are coming. We're leaving the kids here for right now, stay on the phone with me ok?"
I nod, not even realizing how Tyler can't see me nodding. Keely tried... she tried killing herself. Why?! What made her do it?!
"Riley, bud can you keep talking to me? Tell me what you think about the new baseball player? Personally I think he's a great player, but I'd like to hear your thoughts."
I blink, not paying attention to what Tyler's saying. "If she dies it's all my fault." I whisper, thinking aloud. "I should've... I knew something was up! How could I have been so stupid!"
"Riley, we're about three minutes away, I really need to hear you talk about that baseball player, ok? It's important buddy."
"T-there was so much blood. So... so much." I whisper, my mind picturing all the blood I saw. "So... much... blood."
"Riley, we're two minutes away now. Just hold on bud ok?"
"She was covered in blood. There's was so much." I repeat. "So much blood."
"A minute away bud. What wing are you in?"
"What if I never see her again? She'll die with our marriage in shambles. I fucked up so bad!" I cry.
"Riley, we're walking in now, I'm gonna hang up, but we'll be right there ok?" Without waiting for my reply, Tyler hangs up. I set the phone down, and turn out, leaving the front desk without saying a thing. My minds still picturing all the blood, there was so much...
"Riley!" I hear someone yell, who? I don't know. "Riley, I'm here buddy, it's ok. It's gonna be ok."
Someone wraps their arms around me, but I feel nothing. Nothing whatsoever.
