I pulled to a seat, and pushed into it. "Riley, I need you to tell me what happened ok? Tell me everything from the start."

"I- I was drinking coffee in the kitchen, and I heard a thump from upstairs, so I went to check it out. Keely w-was passed out in a pool of blood, there was so much of it. Sh-she tried to... she... what if she dies Tyler? What do I do?! Someone tell me what what the hell im going to do?"

I don't even notice I'm crying until Tyler pulls me into a hug. "Sh, it's gonna be ok Riley. Keels is one tough girl, she's going to be ok."

I nod, trying to force myself to believe it.

"Riley, let's go wash you off, ok? A bathrooms right over there." Tyler says standing up and pulling me along with him.

"What?" I question, until I look down and see my shirts covered in blood, and my hands and arms are too. I have some blood on my pants too, but it's not much compared to my dark red shirt that once used to be white.

Tyler grabs my hands and walks me over to the bathrooms, he grabs several paper towels, and runs them under water then wipes the blood off my arms and hands. I'm so grateful Tyler's here, because there's no way o could do this by myself. My mind is in a completely different universe and I feel miles away from reality.

"Riley, why don't you take off your shirt, you can use my hoodie." Tyler says taking off his hoodie, showing off his shirt on under it. Setting his hoodie on the sink counter, Tyler grabs the ends of my shirt for me. He pulls my shirt off over my head, and then pulls the hoodie on for me. I'm aware he's acting like I'm a small child who can't do anything for themselves, but I can't be more thankful for it. I really don't think I could've done this by myself.

Tyler looks at my shirt, before just tossing it in the trash can. "I'll buy you a new one buddy. Come on now."

When Tyler realizes I'm not moving, he wraps an arm around my shoulder and leads me out the bathroom. He takes us over to Raven, who's still sitting in same spot.

"Here baby, I found a awesome magazine for you to read." Raven says handing it to me when I sit down. When I don't reach out for it, Raven grabs my hand and makes me take hold of it. However I don't even open it, I just stare blankly at the wall across of me.

My wife, my reason for getting out of bed every morning, the love of my life, just tried killing themselves. And said person can still die. Hell, they could be dead this very second.

I have no idea how long I sat there, staring at nothing, but it didn't feel like very long, even though I knew it was long.

"Riley Trone?" I hear someone call into the waiting room. I shoot out of my chair and run to the nurse before anyone could even blink.

"Is she ok?! Please tell me she's ok!"

"Keely's out of surgery now. Her heart rate is slow, almost nonexistent, but a heartbeat is there. She's being given blood as we speak, and hopefully that'll help bring her back to life more."

"Can I see her?"

"Sorry, but not yet. We have to let the drugs wear off first. You can probably see her in an hour or so-"

"CODE BLUE IN ROOM 227-CODE BLUE IN ROOM 227-CODE BLU-"

The nurse says something to me, and rushes off in the direction she came in.

"Code blue, that means that someone's flatlining, right?" I mumble to myself. "And the nurse just ran off in the direction she came from, aka Keely's room, right?"

A hand is placed on my shoulder and leads me back to where I was sitting. "What are the odds Keely flatlined? The nurse had said she barely had a heartbeat in the first place."

"There's about a 17% chance it was Keely Riles, it's probably not her." Raven says, making me sit.

"Then why is Tyler talking to that nurse? It looks like he's asking about Keely. It was her wasn't it?" I mumble staring at Tyler who's talking with a nurse.

"He's not talking to the nurse about Keely baby, he's a friend of that nurse. Her names Gloria, she worked here when I was in my coma. Tyler's not talking about Keely, because Keely's going to be just fine."

"Yeah, yeah. Keely's gonna be fine."

Raven's phone starts buzzing, and she picks it up. "What's up Zoey?"

Zoey? Zoey as in my daughter Zoey.

"Why aren't mom and dad picking up their phones grandma? What's wrong. You can't expect me not to worry if you and grandpa rush out of the house, saying you're going to the hospital, and then neither of my parents will pick up their phones. What is going on?!" I hear Zoey say loudly through the phone.

"Everything will be ok baby. No need to worry. Would you want to talk to your dad?"

A second later, Raven holds out her phone to me. "Here Riles, it's Zoey. She wants to talk to you."

I take the phone, and hold it up to my ear. "Daddy, what's going on? Why won't you or mom pick up my phone calls? Are you two ok?"

"I'm ok babygirl, don't worry about me. I left my phone at the house, so that's why I didn't pick up your calls."

"Dad, what about mom? You didn't say a thing about her. What's wrong with mom dad? Is she ok?"

I clear my throat. "I'm not going to lie to you Zoe, because you can always tell when I lie. Your mom is very... sick right now. We're praying she'll be ok, but we don't yet hunny. We can only hope for the best at this moment."

"What do you mean by very sick? And don't lie, I know you avoided the truth right there. Don't hide anything from me." Zoey says sternly.

"Your mother hurt herself and had to go to the hospital." I say trying to keep it as vague as possible.

"So you're saying mom tried to commit suicide?" Zoey asks after a moment of silence.

"I didn't say that Zoey." Not directly at least.

"No, but you meant it didn't you? Mom tried killing herself?"

I close my eyes, and sigh deeply. No matter what I say, Zoey will figure out the truth, she's too smart not to.

"She wasn't successful though, right?" Zoey whispers.

"W-we don't know yet. The nurses said she had a heartbeat, but it's barely even a heartbeat. We don't know much at the moment."

"Promise me she'll be ok daddy, promise me. Please." Zoey begs, and I close my eyes even tighter.

"I can't do that Zoey, you know I can't."

"Riley Trone?" I hear a familiar voice call out.

"Zoe baby, I've gotta go. Here's grandma." I hand the phone to Raven, and run over to the nurse from earlier.

"What's wrong? Is Keely ok? She didn't die did she? She's fine, right?"

"She flatlined."

I knew the code blue was for Keely, I just knew it!

"Is she... is she dead?"

"No, we revived her. Her hearts beating again, but again it's a very slow heart rate. We can say for sure if she'll make a recovery, she lost a lot of blood. You can see her in around two or so hours." The nurse walks away, and I just stand there, staring at the floor.

It's my fault. If Keely dies, it's all my fault.
